problem with screen resolution

Post by fogg »

I just installed the game but when I launched it I made a wrong resolution choice. A Windows appears that says:

current system does not support 1536x864x32 resolution. Program terminated

What can I do to return to the resolution screen window? I just unistalled the game and installed it again but the problem remains.
When I launch the game it doesn't give me anymore the resolution choice window.
Thank you.

I did same thing! Uninstall again and then search for Strategic Command Classic at drive level (i.e. C:). My search found about a dozen files still remaining associated with SC Classic. I deleted them (one must have had screen resolution info), reinstalled and was back to start up screen where you can pick resolution again.

as with all uninstalls, sometimes an odd file is left over so it's always best to check the install folder is wiped as well as any files left in the my doc folder if made etc, before a reinstall etc

Hi Fogg,

Sorry to hear about the trouble and the easiest way to reset this is to navigate to the following folder and delete the SC2.ini file. This will then result in you being prompted to select a resolution again. I'll also look into why this was not working for you either as it should not list resolutions that are not supported on your system.

C:\Users\<username>\Documents\My Games\Strategic Command Classic WWI - The Great War 1914-1918

or

C:\Users\<username>\Documents\My Games\Strategic Command Classic WWI - Breakthrough

Hope this helps,
Hubert
