CV Air Unit Command

Post by ADM Vincent »

Hi all. Question.

Does a CV air unit get any inherent command bonus like a land based air unit does with the presence of an AIR HQ like Thirteenth Air Force?

Which leeds to my second question.

Would the CV air unit get a bonus from being in range of the land based AIR HQ?

Thanks in advance

I think the admiral commanding the TF is the primary factor. That is better commander, more planes in the air and better coordination. Anyone know for sure?

Rather than having a bonus when in range of their HQ, squadrons have a 25% malus in airborne planes when they are outside it. AFAIK, CV planes fly maximum effort from CV, so I guess this malus didn't apply to them. Floatplanes also.

It seems to me that HQ only affect land-based planes.

Of course, for CV planes, your admiral is critical.

I always thought that the air staff on the carrier was the equivalent of an air hq just large enough to run the 90 or so planes on the ship.
