Editor: TOE for units

Post by jzardos »

I'm struggling a bit with the editor in understanding how to adjust a unit's TOE. Units are tied to a template that has their TOE values? Any help on this topic? I apologize if I missed it in the manual, page number(s) please To be clear, I do understand how to adjust the actual items and #'s in the unit, just not their TOE.

thanks

Table of Organization and Equipment. If you know how to add/delete types of equipment in a unit and if you know how to add/delete quantities of those equipments in a unit what else is there? That is the unit's TOE. Or am I misunderstanding something? Are you asking where you look to see what a unit's TOE is supposed to be so you know how to fill it out with equipment and personel?

I'm going to assume you mean you know how to use the force editor to change numbers, but you want to make new lists of equipment with new units?

The manual 17.3 The Force Editor discusses this via editing the equipment file to change equipment. 17.5 The Equipment Editor is also a good section to reference.

Sometimes a hard thing to catch is the use of the right mouse button on many of the editor buttons, so don't forget that. Anyway, I think the manual discusses pretty "briefly", but touches on it all.

Maybe a little more detail in the question, it seems a little general.

I just wanted to know how to change the 2nd # after the '/' when you look at a units composition. So given you have '200/240 Heavy Rifle Squad', how to change the '240' number. Believe I know how but seems like a lot of clicks/searching to do it and was wondering if there was an easier way.

If you hit 'U' you can change that number right there. Note that you will be using a preliminary screen in the 'coming soon' new Editor. Otherwise, you go thru the original Force Editor and from there thru the Available Systems menu [as it seems you already know].

Select a unit and hit 'U', or 'u'. Has to work. It can't not work.

I was looking at the events and saw the air shock value of 5 on turn 1. Is this correct? Was expecting to see something > 100 like the army shock.
