Operation Mercury

I don't know if this issue has been raised before, but it's a rather cosmetic one.

I took Crete in 43 with the Italians and while no German unit was ever involved, I received a "Germany launches Operation Mercury" pop-up complete with a nice pic. [:D] No other effect.
I can only guess that Mussolini wasn't too pleased and phoned Hitler to complain afterwards.

Edit: the same picture would have been handy when the fallschirmjäger took Malta [;)]

You are right, it's just a bit of historical ambience and can occasionally pop up in other circumstances.

Indeed. I'll probably do it myself once I get into the (minor) modding phase of playing this game.
