ZOC without effect?

Post by Mazarol »

I'm a newbie and maybe this question is just stupid. But I try.
I'm playinig the Axis in a solitaire Barbarossa and in the third impulse there is a 7-6 ARM Sov Corp in 43,48. My 6-4 INF Corp started in 45,46, moved in 43,47 and should stop there because of the ZOC. But, to my great surpirse, it's allowed to advance in Riga. Bug of the game or (more probable) mine?

Could you upload a copy of the save file?

I can't think of any reason why it should not work as you mention, but looking at it might allow for an explanation.

I might have an explanation. Although it might be that you didn't do my alternative move and it is a bug.

Did you move the German corps to that hex 43,47 and then moved it one additional hex? If so then that sounds like a bug.

But if you ordered it straight to Riga and assumed it moved through hex 43,47 it is more likely it took an alternative route. See attached picture. You might be able to see the route used by turning on hex control.

The game will route the unit that way if you just select the unit and click on the destination hex, so that's what likely happened.

Thank Orm, You are right. I feel me a little dumb, but in the detailed map Riga doesn't look directly connected to 42,47.
Thank you again.

Do not hesitate to ask. We are only glad if we are able to answer the question.

There are a few hexes that it is hard to see that they are connected. Checking it on zoom 8 often helps.
