Looking for a Medium Rare opponent

Post by KorutZelva »

Heya prospective opponent!

Apparently my record of 1-0 is too intimidating to newbies so I guess it's time to move up in ranks! Time for an intermediate level adversary (although I'm not sure what that means other than probably not Taifun or Harrybanana? Yet...)

My preference is to play with the standard rule (FOW, Hard Build limit etc.). I can play either side. I wouldn't mind giving a try at cripy131313's Fall Weis II mod especially if I'm playing someone else playing it for the first time also. I'd probably AAR it with a few turn delay, since its all the new rage now.

I can usually play a couple of turn a day. (Eastern time for best results)

I'm out of town until late sunday but hopefully the patch will be out of beta by then!

Korut,

It looks like both of us are having difficulty finding opponents. I am not a particularly experienced player. I have started about 12 PBEM games and finished about 6 of them (I haven't been keeping an accurate count).I have read your AAR and I think we would be a good match. If you are interested post here.

Oh yeah, I don't think the patch will become official until January. If you would prefer to play with 1.10.03 beta rather than 1.10 I can "update" to that.

Let's do this then!

1.10, trad 1939, FOW, Hard Build limit

I'll play allies as it is generally admitted the weaker player should take 'em.

I'll try to not do harebrained scheme to give me a fighting chance but I know I won't be able to stop myself. [:D]

I have set up the game. I will pm you the password. Only 2 of my games have been as the Axis and I am a much better Allies player, so not so sure you are the "weaker" player. So this should be interesting.

The shop is once again open for medium rare opponents. I want to try a new Allied strategy...

Current record 2-1

I have an idea.

How about mirror games with the Germany delayed income script turned on?

That should give an idea how much it narrows the gap.

BTW, I believe there is more than one of them, maybe different timming of activation.

I think each of five is like a different city that starts at 0 supply and gets activated latter. Although one of them gets activated in 39 so this one is not a huge delay.

I was thinking of activating all 5. After mirror games, we'd be able to roughly able to tell if its too harsh or not.

That would require opponents of equal skill (and at equal skill of both sides). [:'(]

Doesn't have to be perfect match. We can extrapolate what would be the deviation from the standard outcome (no script on).

Persobally, I'm not ready to play multiple games simultaneously. For multiple reasons, not just skill ones.

A pity because you're one of those 5-star AAR makers out there. [&o]

Yeah, I wont be trying to capture my opponent's turn combat results ever again. It's just too hard. I was forced to record it on my phone, then play it back on the computer multiple times to do that.

What would be cool would be a way to pull the video out directly. Then we could all post that for our AARs.

Short of that, it would take both players being diligent and writting down their results as they play their turn and posting their own turn's results to an AAR.

Though I will say doing an AAR is useful to learn the tactics of the game and makes you think more and reduce careless play.

Has the opposite effect on me regarding carelessness! [:D]
