A truly astonishing ship holds a number of unusual records. It was the
first ship to circumnavigate North America (completing this in 1944). It
was the first ship to complete the NW Passage in both directions and the
second to navigate it West to East. It begins the war in Vancouver, B.C.
and moves to Eastern Canada (Halifax) in 1944.

The ship is a schooner, diesel and sail. It is variously rated at 175.6 tons
and 323 tons - one of them is likely grt and the other displacement tons. This
vessel's 1942 passage West to East is the first time Canada legally could claim
ownership of much of its Northwestern areas (as you must sail there, fly there or
drive there with a government commissioned vehicle to have a legal claim).
