Computer player continues playing after I close the game

When I play against the computer and File > Close the game during the computer's turn, the Main Menu appears but the computer continues playing (moving and attacking me) in the background. It seems he doesn't agree to stop.

When I then click New Game in the Main Menu, the who-plays-who Computer Player dialog appears, as if he wants to double check my decision to stop and play a New Game. Unless this is artificial intelligence, can the computer player please stop when I stop?
