Neutral Objective Hexes

Post by Big Ivan »

This may have been covered somewhere else before and I may have missed it so bear with me.

How do you set Neutral Objective Hexes in CSME like one could in JTCS 2.02?

Every time I don't put a country in from the drop down list but list a value the game gives me and error
about missing bit map image and then crashes out to the front autorun window?!

Any ideas?[:)]

Not possible in CSME, I'm afraid. Without a specified country, the code defaults to using XNoNation, which has a value of -1. Among other difficulties, there are no graphics files associated with "NoNation" (e.g., there is no icons7d-1.bmp file), so as you may have discovered, the map editor will crash when attempting to display a non-existing NoNation objective hex marker.

In future, we will be adopting a fancier objective value system. At the time, we will also take coding steps to block any attempt to set an objective without a specified nation.
