Once more into the Breech with D21

Here's Kiev right now. I'm trying to squeeze all the Soviets into the Kiev hex so I can guard them with fewer troops.

There's been changes in the front lines in the NW corner of the theater. I've been pushing and shoving and have killed
a couple of Soviet units and progress is being made. The Soviets will probably respond by sending more units.

Here's what's going on in the south. I've been using whatever is nearest the emergency and as a result I'm getting
severe mixing of formations and that's not a good thing. I've got to get organized and plan ahead better.

Here's the front lines in T11 before I have moved anybody. Lots of progress in the south.

Here's what Kiev looks like right now. I've squeezed them into a small group and now I just need to hold them there.
The idea isn't to kill them or attack seriously but a probe every now and then will entice them to keep up their guard.
The easy attack is a go for lift off but no serious attacking that might have serious losses.

The Hungarians and Rumanians are doing their share of the load down south near Odessa. I've got them on the front lines
and their recon units are out front and I was doing quite well up until I ran into what looks like three stout Soviet
units and me without any armor handy. I could be wrong on that, there may be some armor somewhere nearby underneath a
different counter somewhere. A Panzer unit would probably make this process quicker.

Here's what's happening north of Leningrad. Some of the Finns haven't gotten out of garrison mode yet and it's
frustrating having those troops and not be able to use them. Yet.

Near Pskov there has developed a situation that has made me uncomfortable in that the road leading north is an open
avenue to Soviet tanks and troops. The 8th Panzer was to guard that route but got sidetracked to deal with some
Soviet armor and now there's nothing there but an HQ unit. I've got to fix that and soon.

Here's the front lines in T12 before I have moved anybody.

Originally OKH was in Berlin but there's no airplanes to encourage there so I moved it to
Riga to babysit the planes but then the front lines moved to the east and now there's no
planes at Riga so I was moving it to Pskov to encourage the bomber crews when I ran into
some Soviet remnants. Worse than partisans. I'm going to have to scramble to get some
support down there to him. The 8th Panzer just happens to be ready and the tanks ought
to take care of the Soviets so maybe it'll work out.

Here's what I did for the above situation: first I tried moving all the equipment I could see nearby and none of it
could reach a position to support. So then I thought of the paratroopers and flew all five of the Brandenburgers to
a position where the Soviets will have a hard time getting away and OKH is escorted by highly trained paratroopers.
I'm thinking this is what happens when you don't have a reserve. I'm going to have to come up with a reserve
somehow.

This is the Smolensk area right now. I've cut the LOC for some of the Soviet units so I expect them to crumple soon.
That will be a relief for this troops right up against the riverbank. They are resting but alert and I think a big
push is coming if only the supply level were higher.

This is the face of war near Kiev right now. I'm getting in and around the Soviet units and getting piggy with it.
Things are going well.

Here's the supply situation to the NE of Kiev. It's way too low to prosecute the war. This won't work. I'm going to
have to call a halt to sections of the front lines where the supply situation is like this one.

This is what's happening north of Leningrad. I had to divide the Finn divisions into their rgmts and spread them out to
cover most of the front lines so that thins out the troops standing in the line so the power to push has been diluted to
the point where it's difficult to push the Soviet back.

This is Smolensk right now. I seem to have trapped a small group of Soviet units up against the river and will have them
mopped up shortly. The advance is frozen in place though to let the rail advance a bit. The supply level is too low to
get excited.

This is Gomel which is about 20 hexes NNE of Kiev and that is the area where there's a lot of activity going on even tho
the supply level is poor at best. I've got victory disease and the Soviets are cooperating by falling back, RBC-ing, and
giving way after a good shove. But it's going to have to come to a halt soon. Because soon they will fall below about
50% supply and the readiness will decrease and then they won't be combat worthy. Emergency use only.

This is Odessa right now. I've gotten most of Odessa surrounded by the Romanians only and the siege has begun. I'm
going to bring in some arty to pound the biggest stacks first. I anticipate the take down in about 10 turns or so.
