First Russian Winter questions

Fury Games has now signed with Matrix Games, and we are working together on the next Strategic Command. Will use the Slitherine PBEM++ server for asynchronous multi-player.

First Russian Winter questions

Post by OxfordGuy3 »

I'm a bit unsure about the criteria for Axis units to be affected by the first Russian winter e.g. which turn is the first chance of this happening and what is the geographical scope? Am I right in thinking as well as units taking damage (and morale hits) from the Russian Winter, so can Axis resources in Russia?

Do Axis units also suffer, but to a lesser extent in the Russian Winters after the first one (i.e. 1942, 43, etc.? Thanks

Hi OxfordGuy3

Only units are affected, and only the once, i.e. there is no recurring event each year.

It can only happen in winter and will affect pretty much any Axis unit in the USSR, with the exception of Finnish units in the Leningrad area and further north who are immune.

BTW what happens to Axis units that are operated into the Russian Winter zone straight after it hits? Are they unaffected?

Yes, they should be unaffected as it is a one time event.

So, if resources are unaffected, will supply only drop because HQs will lose strength points?
