Saving in PBEM++

Post by rjh1971 »

In my current pbem game using the Slitherine/MAtrix server of the Eastern Front 1941-1945.v4.1 scenario if I save the turn in the middle of it as to continue later, when I try to load it again from the server it starts from the beginning as if the file had not been saved in the server.
I've seen it is saved in my ...\My Games\The Operational Art of War IV\Saves. If I load it from this folder (using load game) once I finish doing my moves attacks it is not sent to my opponent though the game says it is.

Any ideas what am I doing wrong or if there is something buggy?
In big scenarios it is very helpful to be able to save in the middle of the turn and continue later as real life tends to get in between...

Thanks.

Hmmm looks like other players are having the same issue:

I found out that when playing a Pbem game with the Matrix/slitherine server if you want to save in the middle of the turn you have to select close and then the game will ask you if you want to save and close or close. Selecting the first one the turn is saved and uploaded to the server to continue later.

Thanks, I'll have to look at that.Save and close should be the only option.

Has this proven to be correct? I was wondering the same thing.

In other words, you click "save and close" and then you have to go back to the online server to continue your turn rather than load a file (like you had to do with legacy email)?

i would like to if the "save and close" is the way because i am unable to open my saved game that was started in the server. It saved in my save files and then i sent it to my opponet. he has sent it back but now i am unable to open the game. Asks me for my password and since i only use 2-3 in gaming and they all failed. I hate to lose a turn in FITE2.
