I say old boy, do you really want the Bf-110 to Hannover or is that a typo?
I had been thinking of having it back as strat bombing defence but on second thoughts, stick it on top of that 7-5 ARM, thanks.

We got a bit of a break with the weather. Sian may be able to hold for a while as I don't think the Japanese will risk low odds attacks at least until they have taken a couple of impulses to get everything brought to the front. Even then, odds will be around 2:1 to 3:1 depending on rain/snow and which units are left back guarding Yenan etc. Perhaps a Hail Mary when it looks like the turn is about to end so the disorganisation penalty won't be too bad if it fails.
It gives the remaining Communist forces time to regroup in the mountains and perhaps deal with that CAV Div.

Mate, with the length of the first turn, the dice throws in China and them getting the initiative, had the weather not been kind I think I would have given up there and then....
Mao is geeing up the troops even as we speak [:)].

RE: TOP SECRET: AllenK and warspite1 ONLY!!!!
Morning old chap.
With the weather as it is, Germany will do a land and just move units in Germany and Poland towards the west. I was keeping the slower units in Poland as garrison (3 movers or less). I think INF Div and SPG in Denmark can also move down.
As I am not at computer for a few days, you can run the impulse to keep things moving.
Might be worth considering an Italy DoW to have a go at the French TRANS.

Morning old bean. Didn't expect to hear from you - not that its not a pleasure [:)]
I will take a look at this. If I get a chance I will do it this weekend but I am out and about and, taking advantage of your absence, I was going to try and progress my DC: Warsaw to Paris AAR and my TOAW IV North African Campaign.
I will try and handle your German units with all due care and attention. As for a DoW by Italy, I will have to have a think about that one.

Ahoy there.
Nordic 2.
I think CW will do a naval move to get escorts and task forces out and start bringing another unit to France.

I say my dear fellow, do the French, Russians and Communists have any plans for the impulse in Nordic 2?
RE: TOP SECRET: AllenK and warspite1 ONLY!!!!
I don't know yet old bean, I think the first two games are entering really crucial phases and so have my concentration. However I will take a look at this before the weekend.

Nordic 1 (Game 3)
Morning AllenK old chap. I wonder if you can assist viz-a-vis a particular problemette pertaining to oil?
Here are my suggested end of turn orders for Italy and Japan.
Italy
Save oil in Milan
Japan
10 Production points – 1 saved oil in Fukuoka and, possibly, depending on what you think, 1 or 2 saved oil in Persia (I cannot save the third anywhere it seems).
If I save oil in Persia and (as is likely) it is conquered then those oils go to the USSR which is boring and so I might as well leave them idle.
If you gain control of a hex containing saved oil resources, they become yours.
However, the program is letting me use one of the saved oil to reorganise all my units. According to the rules:
Ships and aircraft at sea consume oil if reorganised, but they do not need to trace a path to the oil resource. Note: I have no ships and aircraft at sea so that is no help, but the rules also states:
You do not have to transport the oil anywhere. But you must be able to trace a path from the unit to the oil resource. This path is exactly like a basic supply path (including via overseas) (see 2.4.2) except that it can be of any length. We are not using Limited Overseas Supply and so I think the program is right to let me use this oil even though there are no CP in the Persian Gulf.?
So. If my understanding is right then I should save one oil and use this in the reorganisation phase. What to do with the second oil is then more of a question i.e. do I take the chance that Persia won't fall (I will have two units in the capital and he has no HQ to unflip if things go wrong).
a) Am I talking sloblocks?
b) If I'm not talking sloblocks then what do you think?
Italy
Sub (2nd cycle)
1 x Saved in Milan
Japan
Carrier (1st cycle)
AMPH (1st cycle)
Militia
INF

RE: TOP SECRET: AllenK and warspite1 ONLY!!!!
Logic on the oil sounds good.
Without looking at the map, the question on whether to gamble on saving a second oil also depends on how many units USSR has committed to Persia. Is there a spare that could move down and capture the oil, rather than fighting for the capital? If so, then certainly only save the one. If not, then what are the combat odds and likelihood of USSR destroying both units without being disorganised? If they are highly likely to be disorganised, then save both.

Thanks - but am I right then about the rule? i.e. I can use the oil to reorganise even though I have no CP in the Persian Gulf?

RE: TOP SECRET: AllenK and warspite1 ONLY!!!!
I think you are right. Since we are playing without Limited Overseas Supply, you don't need a chain of CP's to trace the supply path. The sea zones just need to be free of enemy NAV's/SCS (unless you have NAV's/SCS present), which they are.
One of the subtleties of playing with versus without this rule.
I'm wondering whether a more aggressive Italy in North Africa might have been a good idea, especially with Wavell having been moved to France. Might be too late now but worth considering.

At the end of the day one oil, while annoying isn't going to make a decisive difference, so on the basis this gives Japan the chance of two freebies, I will save both (and use one to reorganise all Japanese units). I'll post my end of turn.
Yes, I need to get Italy in the war but I would like 2 oil and 3 resources - or maybe 1 and 4?

I can go 1 and 4.
RE: TOP SECRET: AllenK and warspite1 ONLY!!!!
Okay. But perhaps look at 2 oil on the odd occasion if necessary i.e. a heavy usage turn. However I will try and plan on the basis I only have one available for re-organisation. Deal?
