Enforcing USSR-Jap peace

Post by jusi »

Hello,

I would like to enforce the USSR-Japan compulsory peace in the attached game, so giving many USSR hexes to Japan, moving a few USSR units and killing the USSR subs. Could someone who can use the debugger do these modifications for me?

Many thanks,
Julien

To any other beta testers: I'll take a look at this. Hex control has to be changed hex by hex so it's a fair amount of effort and no point more than one of us tries this.

Jusi, I won't do them all, Siberia is gigantic on the world scale maps vs. the WiF game board, but I'll do the ones that matter.

I evaluate that to roughly 100-150 hex to be modified. That is indeed quite a lot. I don't know how the MWIF debugger works, so how fastidious this task is. Do you best and it will be fine for me. Whatever you manage to do, it is very kind of you.

Many thanks,
Jusi

Here is the file. I guess the USA might at some point want to land on the northern coastlines in which case those hexes will need to change ownership. The USA would need an HQ to do that though, because of FTC. The rules say USSR Pacific map goes to Japan so hopefully the hex changes I made will work for you.

Don't have China surrender in your game as that will result in a rules mess because the program still thinks JP and USSR are at war and in your game a China surrender should mean JP goes back to neutral. I can't change the at war status so you will have to enforce the Peace. [;)]

There is no guarantee. These change might somehow cause the program to crash, but AFAIK they shouldn't. Keep the file you originally posted, just in case.

Merry Christmas.
