Close Combat does not work with windows 7

Hi,

I have a problem with close combat. Every time I tried to start the multiplayer mode the game frezes.
I have this problem when I want to host a game and also when I try to search a game.
My operating System is Windows 7 64 bit. I've already tried the compatibility mode, but it didn't work.
Perhaps, someone in this forum can help me solving my problem.

I also run on Windows 7 and have not had this problem, so I think there is something else that is causing it.
 
Could you describe the steps you're taking to start the multi-player connection, and the point where the game freezes?  What connection method are you choosing? 
 
Is the game displaying a message when it appears to freeze (like "Searching for available games")?  Some things can take a bit of time to complete, so you might want to wait for 60 seconds or so to see if that's what is happening.

Windows firewall could be blocking communication....

@ Steve McClaire: I take the usual steps to start a multiplayer game. First I start the game, then I click on multiplayer, then "Internet UDP" and search a game or host a game. It always freezes, when I click on search or host a game.

Try clicking on "Internet TCP" as the protocol and see if that works.
 
There can be a fairly long delay during the initialization, so be sure to give the game a minute or two to see if it continues.

I have been unable to even open the game in windows 7, just a blank screen and an error box saying cc 2 error. Any ideas how to run the program, I tried compatibility mode with every type and also lowered the screen resolution

I don't think that error message is coming from Close Combat, or that may not be the exact error text. Can you verify the exact text of the error message for me?
