these are the general install instructions on windows 10

if they still don't help you, then please install all pre requisites and also turn on this

without a report i'd be guessing

How to get a DirectX Diagnostic file:

1. click on "START"
2. click "run"
3. type in "dxdiag" and click "OK"
4. check through the tabs and perform all tests
5. click "Save all Information..." and save the text file to a location of your choice

We prefer that DxDiag files be posted as message attachments rather than pasted into the body of the post.

once the report has been made, just attach it to your post with first adding the file to a zip, which is then permitted to attach to the forum

make sure you running the nvidia card as the default card and not the onboard one

Code: Select all

https://www.techadvisor.co.uk/how-to/pc-components/how-set-default-graphics-card-3612668/

Card name: Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600 Dedicated Memory: 112 MB Native Mode: 1920 x 1080(p) (60.000Hz) Monitor Name: Generic PnP Monitor

Card name: NVIDIA GeForce 840M Dedicated Memory: 2020 MB (as there no monitor attached so not the default chip either)

I am having the same problem. I went through all these suggestions but no better. I then went to Matrix Support. But after weeks of fiddling, I got as far as getting a start panel for the game, (install registry fix provided by support)but then I get "Close Combat Error: Unable to start the program because your video card does not support at least 800x600x16 bit resolution." So the game is still unplayable, and support are saying there is nothing more they can do. I am stuck with The Last Stand and The Longest Day and they do not work.

I excitedly bought this game to play and had the display problem described in this forum. I carefully followed the instructions, but nothing changed.

Are there any other tricks that will make it work?

The screen is strange colors and compressed to about half the size.
I am running windows 10 on a Toshiba laptop.

without a report and some more information, anything offered is just guess work, better to open your own thread and post one tbh

SOLUTION: in Windows 10 the game has to be played in window-mode.

Work your way through the purple screen to the Options, go to the General tab and under screen-resolution check the Windowed box.

RE: Display problem, can't fullscreen

Post by Skyerosebud »

Hi I have installed CC LSA on a new Win10 machine (Dell G7)

Intel i7, 16GB Ram, 64bit device, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card.

I can't get the game to display full screen using my regular resolution. (1920 x 1080). It displays a window about 2 inches by four inches. I can get it larger by reducing the settings but the images are very pixellated and colours washed out. I am a bit of a novice at this stuff. Can you help?

What are your display settings? That is, what resolution/windowed mode/DPI boxes are ticked under General?

Cheers
