Another France Surrender/Conquered error

France just surrendered to Germany, so it becomes (incompletely) conquered.The US Entry actions sheet lists '18 (Ge/It)' for that. The US Entry roll was '3', so this should have been 2 chits to the Ge/It pool. Only 1 was drawn.

I also encountered the game not handling French units after it is conquered. MWiF seems to handle the Surrender -> conquest right, just entirely skips how France's units should be handled (so the French units in Mainland France are still there after conquest)...

There is a difference between surrender and incomplete conquest. US entry effects are halved for surrender.

No bug.

Halve the U.S. Entry effect of the conquest of a country that surrenders.

The latest hot patch tm.asp?m=4419692&mpage=1&#4419692 is supposed to fix the problem with the units not being disposed of. You could patch and then load a save from just before the surrender.

During any peace step, you can surrender a home country of a major

Treat the surrender of a home country as a complete conquest (see
13.7.1) of the major power if it doesn’t control any aligned minors.
Otherwise it is incompletely conquered.

RAW 8 the same, except for when you can surrender, nothing about halving USE.

I also searched through the conquest rules and US Entry (action) rules, still didn't find it.
Maybe I didn't look good enough, but if it's from an earlier version of WiF I'm not sure it should be in MWiF [;)].

It is from the official errata published in the 2008 Annual and this was used for coding MWiF. Here it is zipped.

I didn't even know this errata exists.
Still strange that this errata halves USE for Surrender, but RAW8 does not mention it. RAW8 is 8 years later than the errata if I saw that correctly.
Anyway, I'll give the Australian War Lawyers the benefit of the doubt [;)].

Yeah it got changed and then changed back again. But the surrender rules also changed. Perhaps Harry concluded those compensated one another.
