AAR - Crispy131313 vs TAIFUN. FALL WEISS 11.0: The Darkest Hour.

30 June 1941.
The German invaders advance South from Chalons trying to outflank our stronger positions North of Paris. A French AA unit is destroyed South of the capital. The B.E.F. is holding magnificently the front from the Channel to the Northern defences of Paris.
The fight for the Air supremacy over the battle area continues. The Fleet Air Arm is recalled to attack the STUKA Fliegerkorps near Antwerp. All 3 carriers bombard this Luftwaffe unit, at the same time fighting in deadly air duel the defending Me109s. At least 7-8 points of damage are inflicted to the ground-attack Stukas and the 2 defending Me-109s wings are severely mauled in the defensive air combat around Liege.

7 July 1940. German turn
Rainy weather over the British islands interfere with air operations. Our carriers retreat to safe ports but one of our destroyers, DD BULLDOG is caught without air cover in the middle of the Channel and is sunk by Luftwaffe medium bombers operating from Belgium. All available German armour with supporting infantry attack in a final offensive South of Paris. The Luftwaffe is nowhere to be seen in the combat area, we hold the control of the air around Paris. A German FSJ para unit drops near Orleans, and pays dearly for the absence of the Luftwaffe as they are intercepted without air cover. Our Spitfires bring down half of the transport JU-52 and the FSJ land at strength 5. A French HQ is then severely damaged at Orleans.

14 July 1940. Allied turn.
The main body of the B.E.F retreats from the Amiens area towards Le Havre. The French Armoured tank corps leaves their trenches and counterattacks East the out of supply FSJ para unit near Orleans (3 points of damage). Then the FSJ are destroyed by air attack by TAC British bombers. 2 British infantry corps are left behind to assist in the defence of Paris... the French are our brothers in arms!! The Luftwaffe has retreated from their basses around Antwerp- Brussels...

You might as well be leaving those trenches because crispy was poised to attack Paris from the south anyway.

Seem this rugged defence is going to be extra expensive on all sides. We'll need a mpp losses count for UK and Germany at the conclusion of the battle of France.

21 July 1940. German turn.
The German soldiers push hard towards Paris. The Garrison unit defending Rouen is destroyed but incomprehensively the city is not occupied. Nearer to the capital a British infantry corps and the last mechanised division are destroyed. Again no bombers approach the capital area... This last turns the German infantry and mechanised forces are attacking without any help from the Luftwaffe, and their losses are quite high as they make their assaults against entrenched units... One Panzerkorps is down to 4 points left of strength and many infantry units are below full establishment...
The final assault is imminent!

As no Luftwaffe bombers are detected in range a Me 109 fighter wing stationed South of Brussels is selected as target. This time 2 carriers attack joined shortly afterwards by 2 spitfire wings (one operating from England). The fighting is very tough and both sides lose around the same amount of planes, (8-10 air points). 3 Luftwaffe fighter wings are involved in the interceptions.

The B.E.F retreats around Caen and 2 French infantry corps are transferred from the South of France as reinforcements. They detrain at Rouen and will assist in the defence of Le Havre, their Mediterranean holidays are over. The French armoured corps counterattacks a Panzercorps near Orleans and inflicts 3 points of damage while losing 2 points of strength.

4 August 1940. Germany turn
The British AA unit covering Paris is easily destroyed. The French capital is then attacked by 2 medium bomber units of the Luftwaffe and immediately stormed and occupied by the Germans. During the defensive air combats over Paris we lose 4 air Spitfire points but 2 bombers and 2 Me-109s points are destroyed.
The Germans refuse to come to terms at the end of the turn and do not create Vichy! Petain is shot dead! That was a little surprise to us!
This means hard times for the British ahead but a delayed and weaker Barbarossa next year!!
11 August 1940.
The remaining British troops in French soil start a swift withdrawal towards the ports West of Caen except the Polish infantry corps that remains behind to defend Le Havre. The B.E.F Army counterattacks and hits hard a panzer division East of Caen before withdrawing. The surrounded and out supply French armoured tank corps attacks a Panzercorps in a desperate act of heroism...

As a new phase of this war begins we will review some data.

Both Great Britain with 4323 MPPs and Germany with 4497 MPPs got about the same amount of income. Both sides spend about the same amount of MPPs on units 2595 vs 2469. But the important data is that Germany lost so far 6124 MPPs vs 2426 MPPs British casualties. This means that Germany lost many more MPPs than they received as income and that now they are weaker than the day the war started... But British casualties have been quite heavy so far with 2 Inf corps, 1 AA, 2 Mech divisions, 1 Garrison and many planes downed while defending France. Our forces are extenuated and must refit to defend our homeland and Empire!!

The British spent 300 MPPs on Diplomacy vs 250 MPPs of Germany. With so many MPPs invested in new units and politics not many were left to spent on Research (625 vs 1425 MPPs) here we are clearly lagging behind our enemies...

The British infantry corps acting as rearguard near Le Mans is easily destroyed by the invaders. The B.E.F evacuation is carried out next turn 25 August 1940. Only a few British units remain in French soil protecting Cherbourg

This match has gone very far off path for me, the French did not capitulate until Sep 1, 1940![X(][X(][X(] By this time (as you will soon see) I had conquered most of France and the path was clear, show the French no mercy!

I am very concerned at my losses, overall my offensive was poorly executed and against the Western Allies very aggressive strategy to fight for every inch of soil Germany has done very poorly.

None the less, I believe in ultimate victory!

So far only a British DD has been attacked and sunk... There would be no France plunder. I wonder how he is going to deal with Barbarossa... The Red Army will defend against the Wehrmacht easily and with the extra units of this mod I fear a big winter counterattack in 1942!!!!!

Bordeaux is still defended by a British mechanised division, the B.E.F is gone to continue the fight...
French forces continues the fight from Algeria and then the French Government flees to Algeria but them moves back to Bordeaux!! (this is weird!).

He gets a Spain diplo hit (6%) and Spain now stands at 44%. Norway is not happy about our raiders interdicting the ion convoy to the Reich and is also 44% (will have to take care of this). USA 20% USSR 24 % (not to bad)

Germany has lost 595 MPPs from the Norway convoys! We have lost only 194 MPPs and none from May...

I guess this is intended to give them as much supply to as possible to keep the fight on the main land? The problem with these changes of capital wipes the build queue twice! Thrice if it goes back to Alger again! (Btw, is it designated as an alternate capital?)

Bordeaux is still holding in our hands! Many valuable German units must be used to reduce this key city... will they be there for Barbarossa?
Tunis is heavily attacked by air. The Luftwaffe is heavily committed: 2 TAC and 2 Med German wings bombard the capital while a German Kampfgruppe enters Tunisia from the South. North Africa will be defended to the last bullet... saving time for Stalin!
