parking planes adjacent to enemy units

Post by larryfulkerson »

I don't feel all that comfortable parking my aircraft next to an enemy unit, especially
if the unit is arty. If it's arty I don't park there. If it's an LCU there's got to
be no danger of an overrun. The idea is not to get the aircraft unit hurt by anything
on the land. I like to park the AA units on the airfields closest to the front because
Elmer likes to do airfield strikes.

I really feel "funny" about parking aircraft next to enemy units....am I the only one?

In the older versions of TOAW planes adjacent to enemy LCU's would RBC when that unit entered its airfield hex and flew to another one. I guess the game does not model catching planes on the ground by LCU's unless its an arty strike on an airfield. I do not do it either as I do not think historically this was done unless it was absolutely necessary.

Larry

as long you got a friendly LCU at the airfield it shouldn't be an issue; as for the AI performing an airfield attack with his artillery, if it decides to, is a different matter.
