I read somewhere that humans eat more bananas than monkeys and I believe it's true because I don't remember the last time I ate a monkey.

Here's the northern front lines right now. I'm working my way up to the bottleneck
slowly. Resistance is about what I expected. I'm going to need some more people
before I can go much further.

I'm on turn 6 of this scenario and am also having trouble with the RR engineers making no progress.

Ah HA....Soooooo, it's not just me. T8 sees the fourth turn in a row where the RR engrs
have made no progress. And there's nothing to change to make it happen. I'm not getting
any supply to the spear tip and the advance will have to halt soon. There's no way around
it either. This is a major problem. I wish there was a unit that had RR engrs that you
have to use the old fashioned way, repairing the rail a hex at a time by repairing it
manually.

Here's a section of the front lines that's typical and as you can see the supply is single digits at the tip of the
spear. There's just no way to continue to the east.

Here's the northern front lines right now. I've found a few more divisions and I
drove them up to the front and we're making progress but the lack of people makes
it go slowly and carefully. I've got people headed or Talinin and once tht city is
captured the exclusion zone will be lifted and the ships will be able to support.

Here's the supply situation at Pskov and as you can see it's declining the further east you go and it barely adequate
at the front.

I've successfully crossed the Dneper river at two places and units will advance to
the east side of the river and halt. No sense moving into the low supply areas.
Maybe the supply situation will improve and the advance can continue.

The Axis units started flowing into the Gomel area last turn and this turn enlarged the
footprint and spread out and looking for and finding Soviet units. I've got the MP's
combing through the underbrush in the outback converting hexes like crazy. This is an
important area in that there's a lot of roads and rails passing though here so a lot
of traffic can be stopped with it's capture.

Here's the Kiev area right now. I'm backing up the Soviet forces toward Kiev and
condensing the footprint of the defenders. I'm guessing they are going to try to
escape the dragnet by slipping through the river crossing at Kiev so I'm going to
try to get there first and close that door.

I was finally able to force a river crossing down south and get across the Dniester
river and onto the Odessa plain. I just made that up. At any rate, I'm going to
envelope Odessa and start the bombarding with arty to soften up the Odessa defenses.
I'm thinking I can take down Odessa in about 10 turns from when the seige starts.
Which will start as soon as I can get all my Rumanians in position down there.

My Stuka's aren't quite within range of the Soviet BB's near Leningrad. But I'm
thinking that I soon will be within range and then the naval air strikes can begin.
It usually takes two strikes to sink the BB of the group.

I don't feel all that comfortable parking my aircraft next to an enemy unit, especially
if the unit is arty. If it's arty I don't park there. If it's an LCU there's got to
be no danger of an overrun. The idea is not to get the aircraft unit hurt by anything
on the land. I like to park the AA units on the airfields closest to the front because
Elmer likes to do airfield strikes.

Here's the front lines in the NW corner. I'm slowly taking over all the territories
in the peninsula and despite the low number of people progress is being made. The
supply level is in the teens and I'm optimistic about the future up here.

This is the first turn that the RR engrs made some progress, finally, in about 5 turns.

This is a view of Pskov looking south and illustrates how there's a lot of meeting
engagements going on as the front lines start to take on a defination between the
two forces. I may have to rail in some more troops from the south to keep the
advance proceeding.

Here's Orsha looking south and the supply level is in single digits and can't proceed
until supply improves. I may have to review my RR engr usage policy to keep the
advance going in this area. One of my units got too far out in front and got surrounded
and ambushed. I'll send him some help.

Here's the supply sitution at Polotsk right now. There's only one avenue left that
has enough supply to continue and that's the top route depicted with a yellow arrow.
I'm going to keep going as far as I can along that route but the bottom two routes
have already ventured into the single digits and therefore need an infusion of better
supply before any more progress can be made there. That's a problem I'm having all
up and down the front lines. Low supply is a major problem. I understand that it's
supposed to be limiting in a historical way, but it's still frustrating.

Here's what the supply level looks like near Gomel right now. It's too low to go on
to the east any further. I'll form a front line and just sit down for a while here.

Supply is still okay in the Kiev area right now. I'm going to keep going in this
area because I have the supply to support continued operations so I may as well make
hay while the sun shines.
