Generally, Germany jumps the gun and starts manning the Siegfried Line rather than pounce the under-supply unit on the beach. Quietly letting the allies consildated their gains. In this Italy-only game, I decided I would be the D-Day shield, and I brought all my air and half my army to protect our holdings in France. I managed to push the allies out, then, interestingly finally Germany stormed out of the Siegfried line to the beaches (I think the cue was once I had retaken Le Havre)... and mostly stayed there. Teching and elite reinforcing. Clearly the crisis had been averted and even to mop things up they wouldn't need that much units. Meanwhile the eastern front has been stripped bare...
