PBEM directions

Post by tmac »

Is there a thread that discusses the mechanics of setting up and playing PBEM (and can you post the link)? I don't mean the neccessary pre-game players agreements, they are very well covered by Gary Tatro and others. I've never played against anything but AI and I want more. I don't lose against AI (although I'm playing my first MC and that could change, I've just begun to see KV-1's and T-34's in MCLV, lol).

I need to get some guidance with where to put games, saving, zipping the turns up, etc...
I am reasonably proficient on pc, ya don't need to hold my hand there, but I don't know how to get started.

BTW, these type of directions might warrant a sticky, I've seen some newbies on boards and it might help us.

Once I get this, then I'll need an opponent or two who'd like to educate a player new to PBEM (but not a game rookie). I'm hoping to surprise some of you vets out there.
Thanks,
Tim

I'm your man:D

When you set up you pick you preferences. Size of map, turns , points ect

Then after you set up player one buys their force after player 1, buys they will be prompted to save. You pick your slot I think 3 - 12 are for PBEM.

Then in the email folder under SPWAW you select the four files associated with your game, zip them and send that to your opponent.

Whe player 2 receives the zip file they will unzip purchase, deploy then rezip and send to you.

When player 1 gets this they will unzip deploy and play turn one. It continues with this process until M4 is dead, oops did I type that out loud. :D

Sure what country would you prefer, and I can send you something. There are no newbies, and everyone is a ringer;)

Viking, I'm not ignoring your invitation, I'm hung up between trying to unscrew my new megadownload and participating in fun outside family oriented activities in order to remain married. I will email you directly in a few days to arrange my first PBEM. I am really looking forward to it.
