What’s the Longest Time You’ve Gone Without WitP?

A short while ago, I moved with my job, which like many of us is overly demanding of my time, so I stopped any WitP play for about six months. I’d say that is the longest in many years over many versions of War in the Pacific (WitP AE, WitP, Gary Grigsby original WitP, and maybe even Guadalcanal on the Apple IIc).

Sometimes a break is good. When you come back to the game, you realize just how good it is.

About 5 years ago i stopped for about 6 months as well. I don't remember why, but I came back.[8D]....GP

Well my old box died about 7 weeks ago, leaving me hanging around September 44 in a DBB-B scenario #28(?) game against the IJ AI. I was upset to lose that action, 'cos I was really starting to bring the hurt - but mebbe it was for the best, as I needed to focus on social/family life for the holidays!

Anyhow, I've now got a new laptop, quite a speedy thing, got it set up w/ Java, Tracker & CombatReporter are on-line, so I'm starting a new DBB-B scenario #30 game against the AI IJ.

I stopped in 2010 (burnt out from alpha/beta I guess). Came back in 2014. Starting back from a life-enforced 6 month break.

There is a beneficial case for this dangerous addiction.....After returning to the game my blood pressure declined. I found moving pilots in and out of the training pools for hours to be very calming!

Once I acquired it, not very long. Lately I've not even taken my usual 3 or 4 day hiatus to play something else. I can't even begin to tally the hours I've wast... invested in this beast.[:D]

Every year I stop playing for several months both in the spring and again in the fall because of tax season.
