DE:1005 triggers?

DE:1005 triggers?

Post by shadowX »

i was wondering what triggers DE: 1005. i know it brings finland into the war against the allies no matter how close they are to joining the allies and i know it has to do with russian naval movement but i dont know what that movement is. i believe its stopping a ships movement close to the capital hex but like i said i dont know how close or if thats it and the manual doesnt say. i thinks its a bit dramatic that just having a ship end its movement next to finlands capitol will wipe out all the "favor" you have achieved bringing them into the war on the allies side in 1 swoop. i had finland at about 20% allies favor when they suddenly in 1 turn joined the axis against russia just because the russian battleship ended it turn on its way to port to repair close to finlands capitol. however i fixed it by finding that script and deselecting it but i still lost all the "favor" i had with them even thou i stopped them from joining the axis. now they are at 0 and i have to get them up before a german units get within 1 hex of a one of the 3 cities in russia and they join the axis anyway.

Hi,

Would you check that DE number, in the decision file I can’t find 1005.

I did look at the mobilization 2 file. There are two “Soviet naval units within range of Helsinki port …”
onetime events that have a 50% trigger which could result in a 30-45% increase in Finnish activation towards
the Axis. The two variables that cause this are, USSR politically alignment, and Soviets have 1 naval unit
within 1 hex range of Helsinki port.

Interesting the only difference between the two scripts are in the first variables, you have these two:
USSR politically aligned with Allies (not fully active)
USSR politically aligned with Allies (fully active)

Hope this helps.

thanks for the reply. i found that under the war entry tab under the scripts and it is DE: 1005 finland joins the axis. i figured it had to do with naval. ive had this happen twice. both times i had 2 units close to their capital although 1 ship was in port right across from helsinki and the other just happened to end its movement close by. i also got a message saying something along the lines of "finland is alarmed at russian naval movement" then at the end of the turn they joined the axis even though i had a 20 to 30 point allied favor with them. it wiped it all out, a swing of 120 or more points. i dont know if they went to war against all the allies or just russia because i reloaded that turn each time or clicked off the event in scripts to stop it. both times russia was at war with germany so it was after may 41. i usually let the ai control russia until after germany declares war on them then i take over. i do the same with the us. again thanks for the reply and hope this additional info helps.

Hi

Mobilization_4 scripts can also act as the trigger for DECISION events, and any you find with four digits will be located in this file.

DE 1005 will trigger a WAR_ENTRY script that brings Finland into the war on the Axis side, but only if Finland has a pro-Axis leaning.

So if Finland is totally neutral or politically pro-Allied, then this won't fire and the country will stay out of the war.

The mobilization seen due to the Soviet navy sailing close to Finnish shores may therefore have moved Finland towards the Axis, but on its own it wouldn't make them join the Axis - but if DE 1005 was then triggered then by the Axis declaring war on the USSR then the fact of having Finland back in the Axis camp would be enough to make them join the Axis.
