Desert Rats vs Afrika Korps

Peter, in the next expansion with French and Italians units, have you planned new units for African Front?

With French and Italians included, and with Germans that already have almost anything they need, the only missing assets would be early war Allied AFVs.

The Americans, essentially, only require the Grant and the early M3 Stuart; the British (which are second only to Germans when making AFV variants), in my opinion would require the Light MK VI, Matilda, the early (40mm) Valentine, the Lee, the early Stuart, the early cruisers (A9/A10/A13) and the Crusader. The availability of such AFV would also allow recreating early war engagements outside North Africa (France, Greece, Syria)

By the way, it is feasible to implement in TOTH the AFVs with hull and turret-mounted guns, such as the Char B1, the Grant/Lee or the M11/39?

Yes, I will make sure that common vehicles to Africa front will be in the game. However, my engine doesn’t support vehicles with multiple turrets/guns. So I’ll have to abstract that functionality. Either I will allow Grant/Lee fire both type of ammunition from one turret or if you prefer I will not implement those vehicles at all.

What bad news [:(]. I was dreaming of terrorising Germans with the sheer mass of a T-35 [:D].

Do you mean one turret will be able to fire 75mm AP or HE or 37mm AP or HE? If this is the case, it wouldn't be possible to negate the possibility of firing when a 75mm round is selected and the target is not in the VCA? I was thinking about the StuG III AAMG, which can only fire at targets located in the VCA.

@Rico:

Rico, the image you posted has a few inaccuracies in it.

No mention is made of the PZ III J/L/M/N. The first two were present since mid-late 1942, the last two in Tunisia.

As regards to Pz IV both F1s and Gs (the latter in Tunisia) were also present.

The Pz II D (and E) were the high-speed versions, with torsion bar suspensions and 4 wheels per side, intended for the light divisions. A very limited number was built (50 hulls overall), but they were withdrawn after the Polish Campaign and - as far as I know - never went to Africa.

Anyway, I think we already have all the German Vehicles used by the Afrika Korps.
