What does red letter mean?

What does red letter mean?

I play small italian scenario as empire.
Our side captured mantova and annihilate french army.
But,there is red letter above unit stack.
Why the letters turn red? Is there something wrong with Prince Eugine's army
Please help

It means they are out of supply.
