FITE2 and saving map images..

Post by Aetius_Varras »

I've tried unsuccessfully to obtain the map from FITE2 by using: 'Create map image(jpg)' from the FILE menu.
What I get is this: "BMP TOO BIG", "DO IT YOURSELF". What can I do to get the map? I suspect I need to adjust
some of the graphics settings, cache, etc. My computer is adequate for any gaming issues so hardware limitations
is not the problem.

One workaround might be to do a screengrab of the jumpmap. Left-click twice in quick succession to open
the jump map and do a print-screen key hit and paste it into your graphics program.
Does the CIA still do wet work, from time to time, depending on the National Security threat say......?

I've found that I can sometimes get the program to save a screendump after I save, exit and restart the program after it gives me the do it yourself message.

Another option is to use a screengrabber. I use Lightscreen portable. One click and it dumps the screenshot into a folder of your choice in the format of your choice. Edit in Photoshop later. Much easier than printscreen and then pasting into a graphics program.

Thanks for the advice Larry, it does capture the image of the map but it is extremely low-resolution and unusable. I don't think it's possible to
be able to get a hi-res map of FITE2 as it would probably be something like 50gb. The only way(on this end) would be to make screenshots sector-by-sector then fit them together. That
would be brutal work, I've done it before, never again!

Here's the game output full map with small tiles which is the best I can do. Is this what you had in mind?

FITE2 Start Map

It's 47 mb, 5508 x 7176.
