Allied planes reported destroyed
• 2 C-47 Skytrain (both ops)

Picket lines of British and Japanese ground forces face each other in jungle terrain along the India-Burma frontier area from Cox’s Bazar to Imphal. Allied forces are masking the road-rail line connecting Cox’s Bazar-Chittagong-Dacca-Dimapur. Akyab remains in British control though it is not occupied – Japanese LCU are occupying known positions east and south of Akyab. Allied re-capture of southern Burma in a land campaign not in itself a major priority though Allied control of interior areas of Burma have greater importance in covering the flank and pivot point of a possible Allied ground offensive into southern China using Allied ground reinforcements from Europe (mid to late summer 45) along with some British-Indian forces and a modest Chinese army escaping to Burma and salvaged from the China collapse in 1943. Given Pillager has transferred large parts of the IJ Army from China (mainly) to the Pacific theatres, this is a possible opening for an Allied offensive into southern China along with Russian entry.

Allied air operations this game turn against Japanese LCU along Burma-India border area continue. Latest AAR’s and Combat Events report entry follow.

I'am getting close to using the Grace for the first time, have you noticed if the Grace is a good strafer?

Grace is a dive bomber and my opponent was operating them as dive bombers in the action I posted above (not particularly effective given PT-boats were the target). While it is possible to set an air unit with dive-bombers to launch a naval air strike at 100' altitude (strafing attacks normally set at 100' altitude in AE), it's questionable whether the dive bombers would actually strafe. Even if they did, the MG and cannon armament carried by most (if not all) dive bombers is considerably less than armament carried by fighter or fighter-bomber planes - this in itself making dive bombers less efficient in a strafing role. This is my best educated "guess" in response to your question. Any other readers are certainly welcome to post an answer to this question, especially those with more definitive information on the subject.
