I have all three. It really depends on how you want to use it.

Crown of Glory has a lot more detail regarding building the economy and culture.

Wars of Napoleon has the most detailed battle interface

Empires in arms is 'lighter' on the rules, but has stood the test of time, and has the best multiplayer capacity.

Of the 3, EiA is my personal favorite, but depending on how you intend to play, all will give you a lot of enjoyment.

Empires in arms ... has the best multiplayer capacity.

I know of a couple PBEM games ongoing that seem to be progressing well. Unfortunately the loan money bug persists and I've spent the past few weeks trying to fix it. I've reached back to Marshall Ellis for assist, and maybe we can work this out. Marshall's been busy with real life and teenagers and everything else, but he says he's interested in getting back into EIA code development one of these days. If we can fix the PBEM loan money bug and perhaps also implement the PBEM file zip/unzip utility that he had in the code then that would greatly enhance PBEM multiplayer capability.

For now, the PBEM admin can edit money as necessary to effect money loans as a workaround to the bug and players can & should zip/unzip their game files for emailing. So, the game is playable, lots of bugs have been fixed over the past two years, and I'm shooting for a v1.22.02 official update in the next couple months. This game ain't dead yet!! [:)]

True enough. That does make for a different style of multiplayer game, and I'll look forward to a fix. Question: Is the 1792 scenario available for the latest version?
