unable to load multiplayer file

Post by budd »

Just started a PBEM game of Global Conflict 39 campaign. My opponent started and sent me the file through dropbox, i copied it to the multiplayer email folder and it errors out trying to load. Here's the line in the error log.

[02/11/2018 9:51:56; 6.2.9200; 1920x1080x32(0); v1.1] FAILED(general_store): No such file or directory

I start the game and go to load multiplayer and pick the file, then it prompts me to pick a password, i do, then this error messages pops up and the game exits.

we also have been playing a SCWW1 scenario without issue.

i would attach the save file but the limit is 200kb, even zipped the save file is 1800+kb

Tried again with same error message. The save file shows up on the load list but after picking the password the same error pops up and the game exits. The first turn plays fine but the second player gets the error.

39 world at war campaign
Win10 64
All drivers up to date
installed and ran as administrator
Not installed on windows drive/program files directory
Both have Matrix version installed, although i think my opponent installed steam version on the third try.
Played a few turns in single player without issue.

Anyone?

I think I've the same problem. Same error message. Win 10 64 operating system. I have Matrix version of WW1 Breakthrough works well in pbem but Global Conflict from steam same problem mentioned above. Could it be related to steam version.

My opponent and i both started with the Matrix version, he's got steam version installed now.

Were you trying the 39 world at war campaign or a different one.

We're currently in late 1920 in our SCWW1 Russian civil war campaign after having finished the east front scenario, all played without problems.

Then maybe Global Conflict have problems both in Matrix and Steam versions for playing pbem. I did experience too in testing pbem in SC Global Conflict; I have steam version.

Well i've reinstalled and tried both versions, Steam and Matrix and its always the same error when trying to play a PBEM game, the error comes up when playing the second turn of the 39 WAW campaign. Tried starting the 39 campaign through the GC and AOD campaign list, no dice always the same error. My opponent gets the same error when he tries to play the second turn.

I've managed to solve it by copy&paste everything in my games/Strategic Command Classic WWII - Assault On Democracy folder to game installation folder. Pbem works now.

Great to hear gamer78 and that will be a temporary fix until the updated version is available and applied as it will properly change things back to working from the USER folder.
