Flight duration

We have air refueling which actually means that if a flight is refueled constantly it could remain on air for infinite game time. But shouldn't we take into account crew fatigue?

Yes.

Known shortcoming.

In real life, engine oil is also an issue.

The flag is in the database (MaxAirborneTime) but is not actually used by game engine.

This vid doesn't answer your question but does illustrate the point. Kind of humorous but a 7 hr mission in a F-14 has to suck, the flight starts about 38 seconds in.

That's an interesting video! Seeing a jet pilot solve sudoku in the cockpit is a pretty odd sight.

Do pilots actually sleep on mission? I have been wondering how, for example, crews of long-range bombers pass the time and how they manage to take care of their needs (sleep, food, bowels etc.) I mean those fly over of the Korean peninsula must take ages, right?

Surely it's an issue how pilots spend their time in long flights.

on bombers there are multiple crew members with sometimes multiple 'crews' so they switch off so some can rest. Same thing with long range commercial flights
