Some Vals make a strike...they simply aren't very effective.

Meanwhile overnight the Allies continue their night bombing campaign...

Lightning sweeps, and then strikes...a battleship eats two torpedoes, and a 1 point CM eats another.

No Soviet air attacks, and the motorized division evacuates to the north prior to combat, but a solid 6-1 devastates two full Soviet Divisions.

Next month the Type 1 Medium tank arrives...can't wait.

That must have felt good, finally, to give a Soviet ground force a real beating. But I wonder if you killed Grendel only to have the Mother come after you next!

Since most of the soviet AC pools don't replenish... Have you checked how far you went through those?

Soo many subs. One sinks a xap off Cam Ranh Bay, and then this beauty penetrates 8 destroyers and search to strike home....

Allied carriers show deep into my search, bombers will no doubt come next. Pity...I just had over a hundred fighters and Nicks here, but moved them away over the last two turns.

Actually, I think the Manchuko front will stabilize till better Soviet equipment starts to arrive. But the damage is done with the Yank bases there, if I allocate the strength to take those bases back, I can't expand anywhere else, or even stop the Allies elsewhere.

No, I haven't checked. I think there air force is around 3000 planes strong at the beginning.

May 20th, 1942

IJAAF bombers come in several waves over a lone tank division and knock out about 50 AFVs in total, and the unit is now retreating to the northeast. This was the 111th Tank Division, one of the top three Soviet armored monsters (the other two being another tank division and a mechanized division).

Oscars swept first and encountered no enemy CAP. No planes were lost in this endeavor.

The Allies have ground and air and naval superiority in the Singers area and are continuing pushing hard. Here, at Singers, the Allies probe the IJA forces ringing the port.

I am playing a super risky gambit here...hoping I can hold while the A6M3s roll off the production line. Japan has only 800 total fighters available across the Empire....

A bullet dodged, probably by both sides. The Allies could have destroyed half of Japan's tanker fleet last turn, if they had done a naval strike on Balikpapen. Overnight they all fled, and the Allied Deathstar, configured for defense with plenty of fighters, elected not to pursue. The entire Betty/Nell air fleet (330 elite pilots) was ready if they did, and there was certainly enough bait dangled...as all those tankers were spotted at Balikpapen yesterday.

Thankfully, the bulk of the Allied subs are between Singers and Cam Ranh Bay.

Based at Jolo and Davao, the Betty/Nell strike force wasn't detected.

Tomorrow we will add a dozen fresh A6M3s bringing both squadrons to full strength, the pilots will have fully arrived in 2-3 days, and then they will attempt to start sweeping.

There are two more, larger, squadrons selected to get the A6M3 and hopefully they will start to turn the tide in the Singers front.

The Allied night bombing offensive continues, around 15-20 strikes per night from Magwe to Manchuko.

Here is the first combat flight of the Nick. The 5th Sentai, broken down into thirds, is tasked with protecting Tokyo/Honshu from beast strikes from Manchuko and the American base there. They are just now getting the Nick, and I decided to fly some to Harbin to see what they can do flying at night.

Interesting to note that there are three Army radar sets present, and the warning is 1 minute.[:(]
