Question about MG fire

Post by piotre »

Hi all, I've recently bought the game and I'm trying to get to grips with the manual, but I've just come across a situation I really don't understand.

It's the German Defensive Fire Segment of turn 7/7 in Training Scenario 1, and while trying to fire the HS and the LMG in hex 2,14, I get the message displayed in the pic below.

Why in the world can't I fire the HS and LMG together?

The LMG is in working order (it's just been repaired in the Administrative Segment), it's possessed, and I can fire the Leader together with the LMG, the Leader with the HS, the HS alone, but I can't fire the LMG if I add the HS to the fire group.

It's driving me crazy. What am I missing here?
Many thanks for your help.

If a Half-Squad possess a support weapon (like LMG) can either fire the weapon, or it's inherent fire power but NOT both.

If a SQUAD possess a support weapon, it can fire both; the support weapon and it's inherent fire power.

Many thanks for the prompt reply.
I thought I had fired the HS and LMG together previously, but I must have been mistaken then [8|].

Cheers [:)],
