Having Video problems

I just bought SUDG, and installed all the patches, then found out that it doesn't run on the new Windows XP without buying the Indeo codec video software. However, even after buying and installing that, the game still won't run from the menu or direct start. It crashes after the opening credits. Any suggestions?

I am running it from my new Compaq 2 Ghz Celaron Notebook running Windows XP.

Sorry to hear of your troubles.

For what it's worth, you shouldn't need anything but the CD to get SUDG running on Windows XP. It's working fine here without any additional codecs or what have you.

My concern would be that since you have a notebook (they are generally rather infamous for unusual chipsets and drivers) that your hardware may be causing a problem. Can you confirm what version of DirectX you are running and that you have the absolute latest drivers for your sound and video?
