Allied Turn April 4, 1940
Previous Axis Turn:
Clear in Western Europe
Germany Declared War on and conquers the Netherlands. Taking a point of damage to an Army and a hit (presumably 1 pt) to a squadron of Medium Bombers
There are a string of German Army and Corps attacks on the French 8th Army in the woods south west of Luxembourg. The 8th Army is reduced to 7 strength, 1 or maybe 2 German units took a point of damage.
The Maginot line north west of Metz is probed to no affect.
German fighters stationed south west of Mainz fly a recon mission to the hex north of Chalons/south east of Reims and encounter French interceptors. French Fighters take 2 damage, German Fighters take ? damage.
Belgium joins the Allies.
Lithuania was not Annexed by Germany.
Allied Turn
Clear in Western Europe
Belgian Fighters rebase to Northern France
King Leopold HQ retreats to South East of Brussels
Two French Armies and a Corps advance into Belgium. One Army north and south of Brussels and the Corps south west of Antwerp.*
The French DD Jaguar is surprised by U35 along the southern end of the Iraqi Convoy line. Jaguar took 4 damage, I missed exactly how much U35 took, but she is down to a 5 strength (so 4 also maybe?)
* I'm nervous about this, on hand I'd like to see if I can stall Belgium falling for a turn. On the other France still has a lot of reinforcing of units to do, including the 2nd HQ which just showed up this turn. I also minorly screwed up and forgot to change my HQ attachments before moving.

Allied Turn April 25, 1940
Previous Axis Turn:
Clear in Western Europe
Germany goes hard after the French 9th Army and I Corps. It starting with furious air battles involving the UK fighters, French fighters and even the Belgian fighters takes place. Damage is done to both air forces (UK FTR 5 dmg, FR FTR 3 dmg, BLGN FTR 3 dmg, unknown amount to luftwaffe).
The French 9th Army and I Corps are eventually destroyed from a heavy onslaught of a couple of Panzers and various Infantry units.*
Belgian frontier forces are attacked and the GAR in the fortification of Eben Emael and a Corps are destroyed. Germany also takes Liege and Antwerp.
Brussels comes under attack, including from a paratrooper landing north west of the city, but manages to hang on.
In the south the French 8th Army on the Luxembourg/Belgian border is continued to be hammered by German Infantry and is brought to half strength.
Germany takes Denmark & Norway.
* The mistake of forgetting to change HQ support probably wouldn't have saved these units, but it might've meant more damage to the Germans and/or less damage to the Belgian Army in Brussels.
Allied Turn
Clear in Western Europe
Rain in the UK
Polish Corps is formed in England.
The 8th Army retreats south of Verdun.
The Belgian Army in Brussels along with the French 2nd, 7th, 1st Armies and the French Anti Tank Corps counter attack the German paratroopers and shatter them. The Belgian Army took 3 damage, and the French Armies took 5 damage spread amongst the three of them.
All quiet in the Atlantic.

Was the paradrop troops out of supply?
RE: Tourney Game minnie AAR: Taxman66 (Allied) vs. Rannug61 (Axis)
Nope, so he can get it back at reduced cost.
The Belgian (str 7) and edit: two French (str 10) Armies were able to get prepared attacks on it. The other French units moved, attacked, then moved back. It cost them their entrenchment which probably facilitated two of the dead French Armies. They were only lvl 2 entrenchments.
I saw an opportunity to counter attack before the French morale got too low and took it.
One thing I didn't mention was that the appearance of the AT unit caused the Germans to move their panzers behind their infantry.

The Oberkommando der Wehrmacht is unhappy about the loss of our elite Fallschirmjäger unit but most our men was able to get out alive but they need to reform and rest. Frauen undt sauerkraut will be their treatment to recover. The responsible leaders for this failed attack are now serving in a straffbatalion with painriche as their only diet.

Allied Turn June 8, 1940
Previous Axis Turn:
Clear in Western Europe
Germany advances along a broad swath from central Belgium into France, 2 hexes deep and 4 hexes wide. Two French Armies (one half strength) and two Corps are destroyed. Lille and Reims fall in the fighting,
while Verdun barely holds on with the 5th Army reduced to 3 strength.
The Germans continue to hide their Panzers behind their Infantry formations. This keeps them safe from the AT, but prevents them getting a planed attack bonus.
The Germans ignore the open city of Strasbourg.
UK fighters take a beating (6 dmg) while intercepting 2 German bombing runs. Hits were scored against 2 German fighters and 2 German bombers, so those engagements were probably nearly equal in losses.
The French air force is nowhere to be seen. Other Luftwaffe bomber squadrons took hits from ground fire, particularly at Lille and Verdun.
Italian Corps take Grenoble and Monaco and butt up against a French GAR in Nice.
In Egypt an Italian Army occupies Sidi Barrani
Allied Turn
Clear in Western Europe
Clear in the Med/Egypt
British High Command determines that the writing is on the wall for France and if they stick around and sacrifice themselves they would only stall Germany another couple weeks.
So the predicted end of France changes from Mid July (i.e. 3 more German turns) to early July (i.e. 2 more German turns) by their planned evacuation. On the plus side the Germans didn't go after the UK ground forces.*
France does it's best to layer her defenses in front of Paris.
Most of the French Fleet, along with 2 UK Carriers and some escorts venture into the middle of the Adriatic and sink two Italian Battleships and a Light Cruiser. 1 UK Heavy Cruiser is in a precarious spot and likely
subject to reprisal. However the French fleet is still around as well.
A UK sub finds the Italian air force in Sicily, allowing the 2nd UK carrier to participate in raiding the Italian fleet in the Adriatic.
A Light Cruiser scouting the coast spots 2 additional Italian Armies (1 in Tobruk), a 7 str Italian Tank and the Graziani HQ along the road on the Egyptian/Libyan border.
The USSR annexes the Baltic States.
All quiet in the Atlantic.
* The early good spring weather (and German attack) really threw a wrench in my defensive build up plan for France. Additionally I'm still not sure if moving into Belgium was a good idea or not,
or maybe I'm just too passive with the UK land units.

We each got 7 turns done over the weekend. The time difference is going to slow the pace during the week.

Allied Turn June 30, 1940
Previous Axis Turn:
Clear in Western Europe
German destroyers come out of Kiel (or possibly the port of Cuxhaven) and attack the French sub. The first Z boat exchanges fire and both take 3 damage. The second German Destroyer forces the sub to dive.
Germany makes two pushes in France, the first is to destroy the feared French Antitank unit. The AT manages to shoot down a few planes from two bombing runs and do a few points to various infantry Corps and/or Armies that attacked it.
The French Corps next to the AT was also destroyed, as was the Corps in Chalons. The Germans push south then east of Chalons with an Armor unit taking Auxerre.
In northern France Calais is bypassed, the Corps in Amiens is weakened to strength 7, and then cut off by paratroopers landing in Rouen.
The Corps that moved back into Strasbourg is picked on by the West Wall forces (most at INF Wep 0 and all at Str 8) and looses 2 str (from 8 to 6).
The Italians push south of Lyons, take the mines at St. Etienne then move back to the road south of Lyon. The other Italian Corps attacks the GAR (which I forgot to reinforce back to 5 last turn) in Nice and reduces it to str 2 while taking 1 dmg back.
In the Adriatic the Italians do attack the exposed Suffolk Heavy Cruiser and manage to sink her. Suffolk manages to dish out some damage to the Italian sub and a Battleship (maybe another ship as well?) before going down.
The Italians don't advance in Egypt
Allied Turn
Clear in Western Europe
Storms in the Med, Clear in Egypt
French generals want to take the British suggestion of cutting off the paratroopers in Rouen and throw everything they have at it, but the politicians deny them the chance and insist on defending Paris, they feel there is a 50-50 chance of holding out
another couple of weeks, and they want all the time they can get. They claim it is to save valuable French Culture Treasures from Nazi hands, but it is just as likely they mean to save their own personal possesions.
Instead a meager counterattack is authorized and the French heavy tanks do 2 damage to a German Corps while taking 1 back.
The cut off French Corps in Calais boards a transport to escape.
The damaged French Destroyer Jaguar runs into the Deutschland (German CA) camping the Red Sea loop. The Jaguar survives the encounter, but is reduced to str 3.
In the Adriatic the French navy continues to take out the country's frustration against the Italian fleet. They find a Destroyer, Sub, Heavy Cruiser in the Ancona Port and half strength Heavy Cruiser which is then targeted and sunk (this might've been in a clear weather island hex).
A French Battleship (str 8) also attacks the Italian Destroyer (str 9) and manages to only do 1 damage (storm hex).
The British commander elects not to port strike* the Heavy Cruiser and leave the carriers in range of the (presumably) rebased Italian air power.
* This would've also involved finding a clear weather hex from which to launch the strike(s) as well.
Picture to be included later.

Previous Axis Turn:

Germany takes out most of the defenders ringing Paris, leaving only an Infantry Corps and the Heavy Tanks. Both HQs are eliminated. French forces make a reasonable accounting of themselves inflicting small, but numerous casualties (344 MPP worth) to Germany.
The Deutschland sinks the French DD Jaguar.

The French Hvy Tank attacks the elite German Paratrooper and does 2 damage to it, knocking it down to str 7.
The French Corps attempts to follow up, but only hurts itself (for 2 damage).
*More could've been done by using the Army in Paris, but that would make Paris far too easy and free up more German units for whatever Adventure Time they have planned sooner.
A 1 str French BB gets itself sunk in the Adriatic scouting. It is believed the Italian naval units are all in ports, so the rest of the French fleet pulls out.
A French CA finds the Deutschland just south of the Red Sea loop but only manages to get itself hurt by 1 point in the stormy weather.
** I didn't think it through too much as the FR CA then disappeared to travel the loop. Not that it matters.
