How to get amphibious ops to work?

I work on a scenario with the landings in Normandy with Allied PO. Current state:
German OOB is defined, Allied OOB minimal for the first wave units with inital objective path (up to objective 4). The airborne units jump, but the amphibious assault won't happen. The units stay in port. There is enough shipping capability etc.
Anybody a suggestions on how to get these units across the channel?

yes. I used this scenario as a guideline. working with the "non playable" areas etc. but to no avail. airborne is ok.naval support works, but not the amphibious forces ...

Amphibs are tough, and scenario specific at times. Sometimes you need Formations set to Ignore Losses, starting locations to be on a Supply Point, and Objective '1' to be the target beach.

done all that. still doesn't work ... the airborne drop, the naval units bombard, but the assault groups stay put ...

ah.looks like i found something. maybe my coastal defenses are too strong. when i remove them the assault takes place ...
