Turn 120, 8/12/42

I have decided to reinforce the Mediterranean theatre.

I told Mussolini we don’t need more Italian divisions in the East Front. Tridentina, Julia and Cuneense Mountain divisions and Vicenza Sec division are staying in Italy.

I sent nearly 300 aircrafts to the Mediterranean:
76 Me-109 E/F
42 He-111
42 Ju-88
42 Ju-87
41 M.C 200 Saetta
51 SM.81

Losses in the first 120 turns: (last 5 turns in parenthesis) [replacements in 5 turns]

66757 (+1384) Heavy Rifle Squads [repl 2155]
7099 (+128) Rifle Squad – Rum [repl 280]
2846 (+222) Rifle Squad – Hun [repl 155]
5113 (+19) Rifle Squad – Fin [repl 125]
958 (+20) Rifle Squad – Ita [repl 90]
9247 (+138) Engineer Squads [repl 225]
2244 (+34) Panzers (all types) [repl 425]
3038 (+113) Fighters (all types) [repl 205]
631 (+32) Stukas & Hs-129 [repl 75]
3032 (+140) Bombers (all types) [repl 105]

We are advancing fast and yet we take less and less losses every month. This is a clear sign we are winning. The enemy doesn’t have enough troops to defend the whole front.

Good to see spectacular combat on the Eastern Front again. I really enjoy reading your AAR after a 10 days' pause.[;)]

Turn 121, 8/16/42 AGB

We are advancing North on the west bank of Volga. 24th Infantry Division cut a railroad near Frolovo. It was the only remaining railroad supply route to Soviet Armies defending Don River. Now they’ll have to use roads.

Turn 121, 8/16/42 AGA

We have captured Tuapse. Most of the enemy units surrounded near Krasnodar are destroyed.

Our panzer divisions near Georgiyevsk are still out of supply. It’s not possible to continue until railhead moves closer. Railhead is 260 km behind. It will take 3-4 weeks until we can go on.

Turn 125, 8/30/42

Here is the situation at the end of August 1942.

AGN: Situation remains stable

AGC: Most of the frontline has been stable. On the south flank we are advancing towards Saratov.

AGB: Railhead is now close to Stalingrad. We are advancing north along Volga. The enemy units between Don and Volga are going to be destroyed in the next two weeks.

AGA: Railhead is closing the frontline slowly. Supply situation is improving. We’ll have to wait a week or two until we can continue towards Caspian Sea. Our objective is Makhachkala.

Losses in the first 125 turns: (last 5 turns in parenthesis) [replacements in 5 turns]

67718 (+961) Heavy Rifle Squads [repl 2155]
7287 (+188) Rifle Squad – Rum [repl 280]
2921 (+75) Rifle Squad – Hun [repl 155]
5124 (+11) Rifle Squad – Fin [repl 125]
963 (+5) Rifle Squad – Ita [repl 90]
9331 (+84) Engineer Squads [repl 225]
2285 (+41) Panzers (all types) [repl 425]
3177 (+139) Fighters (all types) [repl 205]
648 (+17) Stukas & Hs-129 [repl 75]
3172 (+140) Bombers (all types) [repl 105]

Here are line charts about equipment losses so far.

Engineer losses are now sustainable. During the 1941 I lost way too much engineers.

Panzer losses have been quite steady, about 100 panzers per 5 turns. I have now 8900 panzers assigned and 1300 panzers on hand.

Fighter-bomber losses have been steady, about 130 planes per 5 turns. Production has increased, so I’m now receiving more places than I’m losing.

Level-bomber losses are on rise. I have to limit intercept missions again.

Turn 127, 9/6/42 AGN

Let’s have a look about the situation near Kalinin. The frontline has been stable since October 1941. During the summer the enemy has moved units away to the other sectors. We decided it would be a good idea to shorten the frontline before next winter. The first week of our offensive has been a success. We have captured Kalinin. 16th Armee has advanced 40 km towards Torzhok. Our objective is the green dotted line.
