Red Triangle off Sub

Post by holley »

Hey~
Sorry for having to ask this, but the answer is eluding me...Could someone please tell me what the red triangle is in the attached pic.
Many thanks in advance...(If wasn't so damn OCD, I'd just move on, but I have to know ;) ).

The triangle around sub means that you don't know the exact location of the target, just an area where it may be. I recommend playing through the submarine tutorials (Submarine Tutorial 1.1-1.4 in Tutorials group) as they cover the basics :).

Thanks, have started those (on 1.2) so even tough you can see the boat within the red area, it's still going to show red? Ok.
LOVE the the Sub tutorials, am learning a boat load!

Thanks again Puciek

In essence, you know that it's there, but you don't know precisely where. Don't take the central position of an icon as an indication as it may be anywhere inside the zone, or outside of it - depending on how good your sensors are, how much noise there is etc.

I also recommend to use the NATO icons, while confusing at first you will quickly get hand on what is what, and they provide a lot more information than the graphical ones. This will help you:
