V 1.12.01 install error

Download didn't work

I downloaded 1.12.01 and installed it.

I received PBEM error need version 1.10.03 and game wouldn't go into PBEM

Looks like the PBEM++ Beta server was not updated to reflect the new version number, it should be correct now.

Downloaded the new version at it gave me a series of error messages when I installed (downloaded fine)and when I get in PBEM all games are gone

error msg was the following file is use and can't be installed sc...\autoplay\audio\click1.ogg

and then three more I didn't write down autorun I think

The game was up so I got in PBEM and all my games are gone

I closed SC and re installed and it went thru without error but all my games are still gone in PBEM

I re loaded original 1.12.00 and PBEM games were there

If there was an OS lock on one of the files then this type of error message could appear, or if the game was possibly running in the background. A lock on a file might occur if let's say the game had previously crashed and some files were not released by the OS etc.

Your PBEM++ games would not have disappeared, it is just that this is a beta patch and uses a different server, so if you have no Beta PBEM++ games going on, then the list would simply just be empty. Re-installing the official v1.12 patch would re-point you back to the default server and show all your current games.

You could keep/access both versions simply rename the executable file and create a shortcut to it.
For example rename the 1.12 exe file to sctemp.exe
Install beta update
Rename beta exe to scbeta.exe
Create a shortcut to scbeta
rename sctemp back to original name.
