I flew a squadron of Stuka's up to Finland but now the Soviet ships are invisible so
there's no mission yet. I'll put it on Sea INT and see what happens in future turns.

Here's the pending battles for the first combat round of turn three. I'm including
some airfield strikes because I found another Soviet plane.

Here's what happened: Lot's of evaporating Soviet units including that one Soviet
plane unit. Now to move all the units some more and do it again.

And in the north I was originally going for Riga but something more important came up
in that an operational crossing was captured, a way across the river south of Riga a
bit and I'm driving units that way. Once I'm across the river in force I can move to
clear the other nearby river crossings.

I've moved everybody for this next combat round and here's the pending battles and
there's one that has a rediculus AF and that means somebody is attacking without need
and that costs supply and I don't like to waste supply so I'm going to look at that
battle and trim down the number of attackers.

It's T4 and I'm only just now reaching Riga. I think that means I'm behind schedule.
But I've got a crossing across the river just below Riga and troops are moving across
it. Soon I'll have troops across the river heading east.

furthermore I'm not sure that you can use minors unit until they join in the war.
You bring up a good valid point Captain. I probably shouldn't be using the blue
planes until the blue guys are out of garrison mode. I'll park those bad boys
near Budapest for a while. My first guess was a bad one, you are right.

The Rumanian air units are available for use on turn 1. The land units did not launch their offensive until turn 4 but where hostile from the start.

I just had a wild idea....why not fly one or more Stuka's up to Finland to do some
Sea INT for a while. It's got the best anti-ship value of any of my aircraft and
might just put a hurt on one or more of the Soviet BB's stationed at Leningrad. I
might even try to bomb the ships while their at port now that we have a port attack
available ( new naval rules include this ).

If I were playing a human player he/she might feel that I'm doing somethlng "gamey"
and to defend myself I took a look through the supporting documentation for anything
that suggested that German aircraft in Finland is prohibited but I didn't find anything
so I'm assuming it can be done.

Note to Rick: You might want to say something in the scenario briefing about the no
stacking of Axis minors applies to the aircraft units as well as the land units, in
case that might be true, which I'm assuming it is.

Image

The scenario briefing clearly states that you cannot transfer any assets to Finland from the OOB except those units from the Theater Options that become available.
Axis Minor Air Units can stack. The rule is for ground units only.

If it's clearly stated I didn't find it. Maybe put it bold? And I'm glad to hear that
Axis Minor aircraft can stack. I was finding it a minor hassle tryng to find nearby
airfields I could use for specific areas.

I've been flying the tired planes to Warsaw to rest and refit and I've finally
gotten some HQ units for some of the Warsaw airfields to help the planes refit
faster and it' working. Of the planes parked there, none seem to be yellow any
longer. They heal pretty fast in good supply with an HQ unit to help. I'm going
to deploy the green ones to better positions and apply them to the war.

The front lines are advanacing closer to Minsk and the rescue of my armor unit. It's
out of supply and can't move or shoot but it's in good shape and I'm thinking it will
survive until I can get there and rescue it. Turn four is mostly troops moving from
the mop up positions to the east to catch up with the front. I'm doing it wrong again
using my Panzers to clean up instead of zooming off into the Soviet areas. I don't
have enough people nearby to take over the task. The follow on forces are busy moving
to the sound of the guns.

As part of my plan to surround Minsk I've been thrusting units direcely east to the
south of Minsk and I'm running into some light resistance. It's probably going to
take me several turns yet to get the surround in place and I may have captured it by
then. The war goes on.

Here's the south front lines. I'm starting to run into the Stalin Line and the units
posted there. I'm pushing the Panzers to zoom and I'm running out of unemployed
follow on forces. I'm finding more Soviet units than I have people to deal with.
I'm having to prioritize attacks. I'm looking for weak spots to exploit. The idea
is to run south far enough to trap all the Soviet units on the west side of the probe
so as to be able to eventually kill them. There's a lot of them.

Here's the scene near the northern Bessarabia area. The Rumanians are active this
turn so I'm going to spring them into action. I'm going by the OOB in moving units
and it hasn't been their turn to move yet.

I'm pushing the recon units way out front to see if I can catch the Soviets before
they get away. And to capture the river crossings. Some of them are turning yellow
and I'll need to rest them. I'm using the red green yellow rule for this game.

Here's the area to the north of the Stalin Line in the south. This is the group that
has Kiev as their goal and they are surrounding enemy units and killing them then
moving east a little bit and doing it again. Progress is being made.

I'm keeping the HQ's next to their division heavy part so as to confur maximum supply
boosting capacity. And if I can park the HQ where it will reach more than one Soviet
unit that's the better.

I find myself using the Hungarians to clear out the mountainous area down south. They
aren't the sharpest knives in the drawer but I find that I get some small utility out
of them. They are almost strong enough to stand on the front line. Moreso if I stack
them.

I found another instance of stacked minors in this image, I'll fix it. I'm getting
across the river. I need to see if I can't capture all the river crossing on the
river to the east so the Soviets can't get away. Fighting my way to them, holding
off the hordes, capturing the river crossings...piece of cake.

Here's the Minsk area right now. I'm sneaking around the south of the city and I hope
to have it surrounded soon. I'm still dispatching roadblocks and clearing the rails
to Minsk from western destingations. I hope to soon have one-day rail service to Berlin.
I've got to start thinking about Smolensk sometime soon because it's the next goal after
Minsk.

There's something like 22 battles planed for turn four combat round one. I'm hoping
to get rid of a lot of the Soviet remnants so I can continue the advance faster.
