SOV AT Artillery Brigade use

Anything special about the early game Soviet AT Brigades? I have been using them as placeholders and to fill in gaps to obstruct GER movement but sense that I could be doing something more effective with them.

Your use of these brigades is not bad. (Other use, maining the fin line north, these sort of thing).

Experienced and trained Soviet AT brigades do kill and suppress tanks teamed with good fortifications and infantry during battle against german panzer divisions.
As brigade, they react quite well in reserve mode in defensive position. You could try to keep them in reserve mode in some armies that will have to resist panzer attack.
Unfortunately, german tank production is quite important and expecting to attrit enemy tank number is very difficult.

Their staying power is also quite low, they will not resist any attack left alone unlike rifle brigades.

In theory over time cumulatively they should help to destroy tanks. I think the ToE improves to something better later?

But from what I see of regular Soviet players you seem to have the optimum idea already.
