June 18th, 1942

Marine radiers take a dot base south of Groot north of Kuching. They bounce a damaged xak that had been sitting there for a month.

21st Division is unloading on Malaya. 10 Allied units now at Temuloh, while another group is heading north up the road to Taiping (east of Georgetown).

Ground combat at Serasan (57,86)

Allied Shock attack

Attacking force 186 troops, 0 guns, 0 vehicles, Assault Value = 14

Defending force 0 troops, 0 guns, 0 vehicles, Assault Value = 0

Allied adjusted assault: 5

Japanese adjusted defense: 1

Allied assault odds: 5 to 1 (fort level 0)

Allied forces CAPTURE Serasan !!!

Combat modifiers
Attacker: op mode(-), shock(+), leaders(-)

Assaulting units:
1st Marine Raider Bn /2

In looking at Japan's fighter shortage, I see now that we are negative 177 fighters which is better than the minus 400 we were six weeks ago.

Plus, there are 50+ in the pools.

Southern Malaya: What are your plans here - fighting withdrawl to Kuantan area, fight to death, reinforce, pull a Dunkirk?

Every single surface engagement I have has under performed this game. Not sure exactly what I am doing wrong.

Well, this one at least works, and lots of rounds fired...perhaps the crews will have gained some experience.

I have let the kb be spotted here for several days, and it drew the subs...can't really say like a moth to the flames...

but there are six ASW task forces patrolling, freshly laid minefields, KB on ASW, land based air on ASW, float planes on night search.

A very poor use of the KB in June of 42, but I had my reasons...

This was done to allow these damaged ships to opportunity of leaving Cam Ranh Bay without getting torpedoed...
as a strike against Singers 300 fighters was called off.

Someday...these pilots are working on their experience levels, to be turned into night time torpedo attack specialists.

Iboat makes good...

Bomb Chungking for 30 HI damage or so...

but IJN fighters don't catch Allied beasts and they nail the oil at Miri....

It has been quite some time since I've seen so many working early-war torpedoes.
