MODS CRASHING WITH THIS ERROR

Somehow this seems familiar but I can't find the old thread.

RE: MODS CRASHING WITH THIS ERROR

Is this for yourself or for a player attempting to play the mod? If it is for a player, one thing they can try is to install to a username on their system that does not have any special UNICODE characters. For example, currently a name such as the following will not work:

C:\Users\Michał

This is something we are looking to fix for future releases but it will require a considerable revamp of the code and an upgraded development environment on our end that enables this type of support.

Thanks for the reply Hubert but it is for me. Both copies of my Mod have this problem (I guess I should have made two backups).

I went back...way back to an earlier version that works but I will lose a lot of work if I can't get the newer ones up and running.

Thanks Harry

Did you manually rename the campaign file to something different while you were working on the files? If so, rename it to what it was originally and then in order to rename it properly, do a File -> SaveAs in the Editor and it will set the correct paths this way.

No I didn't manually name either copy to something different. I can't use the Editor to SaveAs because they won't open in the editor.

I'm almost finished catching up with the new version anyway but it would be nice to know what happened to both of my copies.

Thanks again

Is the subfolder that matches your campaign name still in your user 'Campaigns' folder?

For example, you should have the following located there:

World War Three - 1946.cgn (file)
_World War Three - 1946 (subfolder)

If you navigate to this subfolder, is the Scripts\Events\convoy.txt located there?

Yes to all of your questions Hubert. I've since recreated the mod but it was a pain. Testing it now.
