Windows change

Post by Jepo1501 »

Hi
I am in the process of changing to Win10 as my win7 has given up the ghost.

Will my original version play on 10? as I don't really fancy paying out 60 quid on 9 yr old game...but if I must!!

Thnx

What original version are you referring to WITP or WITPAE.

IF AE then the version you would buy today would be no different than the version you bought 9 years ago.

All revisions and updates are downloads.

AE runs just fine on Win10 for me.

I did find out I had to use -w switch with latest Win 10 update. Not a biggie, but was bit annoying.

The following switches work good on my win10 system;
-altFont -skipVideo -fd -cpu2 -deepColor -pxf1920 -pyf1080

My only problem is that the "Night Phase" runs with a 3 second lag after any attacks(Bombardments, Troop landings, etc.)....GP

Try setting -singleCPUorders to help out with that lag. the -dd_sw switch might also apply to that issue.

The latest win10 update doesn't like the -dd_sw switch. I use -cpu2 instead of -SingleCpuOrders. I have a 4 core machine....GP

So do I, but I had the same lag problem with the night phase until I used both switches (-cpu2 and - SingleCpuOrders). I still using Win 7 but that should not affect the CPU assignment switches.

But they are rare, too.
