Turn 8. Nov/Dec 1940. USE.
Poor chit draw ... no additional US entry options selected this turn.

This is something I don't understand at all. If you look at the Chinese front, it becomes clear that the Chinese need to build aircraft. To do so, they need the US to choose the two options (1 and 17) allowing them to do so. With Germany about to declare war on Greece and Yugoslavia, it's perfectly sound to choose those two options at this moment. And if you get tension, that's pretty good, since option 34 needs tension to rise...

RE: An Attempt to use MWiF to Simulated WW2 Reasonably Historically
I've missed that opportunity for the next turn, as I've already drawn and have the tensions, but not entry level, required for 34(17). But after that options 1 & 17 will be my next considerations, after 34(17). For lend lease through don't I also need to reopen the Burma Road (option 24) too? And, if I do, can the Japanese close the road again Politically? I've just never really been a Chinese aircraft guy. But then again, I've never had much luck defending China against good players.ORIGINAL: Centuur

Hopefully the USN has finished deploying to Pearl, so tension rolls can be manipulated.
The Chinese need their aircraft if their factories are being bombed routinely. Otherwise they need their Infantry units, and they need all of them. The Petes and especially the 1940 Zeroes can be the best zappers of Chinese Build Points that the Japanese have if China fights in the air a lot.

They've moved their old ww1 battleships out to Pearl but the carriers are there yet. It'll be a priority to get them out there next turn. However, their initial 6 or so naval moves (i.e., 2 impulses worth) are used to get escorts to the 0-box in the East Coast and North Atlantic.ORIGINAL: brian brian

Turn 9. Jan/Feb 1941. Axis #3. Germany Aligns Finland.
Editor's note: The Soviets could have broken the pact last impulse and declared war on Germany. If they had, then Germany would have lost the opportunity to align Romania and Yugoslavia. So conquest of one or both would have been the only option. Germany should have gotten more troops/planes to the border to have prevented this. If this had been an actual competitive game against a human opponent then I have believe that the USSR would have declared war on Germany, which would have changed the entire trajectory of this game. In order to keep this game on a somewhat historical trajectory I elected to "overlook" Germany's pact deficiency and let them address it this impulse.

Turn 9. Jan/Feb 1941. Axis #3. Germany & Italy Declared War on Greece.
Editor's note: I learned something either that I didn't know or at one time knew and had forgotten. Because both Germany and Italy declared war on Greece, even though it was on the same impulse, the allies got to roll twice for US entry chits. However, Germany could have declared war on Greece and Italy, because they're active, would have automatically been at war with Greece. However, Italy would not have received any benefits of the surprise impulse. In order to they would also have to declare war, which they did.

Turn 9. Jan/Feb 1941. Axis #3. East Med.
The Italian RM reestablishes supply to Graziani's army in Egypt and put's an amphibious invasion force (for Greece) at sea. Unwilling to risk any of this the RM smartly chooses not to attempt to initiate a naval combat; however, the RN does in hopes of disrupting both Italian supply to Egypt and their amphibious invasion force for Greece.
The Italian RM is able to avoid naval combat.

Turn 9. Jan/Feb 1941. Allied #5. East Med.
A disaster for the RN in the East Med. Though far out numbering the RM in all sea boxes, the Italian RM is able to isolate the 3-box, force a surface naval combat and have sufficient surprise points (i.e., 6) to target and sink the Queens with a 7-3 inf corps slated for Athens and damaged the light carrier Argus.
