cvp not being included in sea combat

Hi,

Pls choose the E Med as sea combat area to init for Italy.
Then fly NAV3 IT to 1 box to join FTR there.
Then enter search rolls round 1 of ax 2 al 9 and have italy choose 0 box to sink cp.
Then enter search rolls round 1 ax 1, al 8 and have IT save surprise for reducing AA. Air combat will be fought by Italy v CW.

The gladiator cvp will not be included in the air combat - not sure why?

Any fix for this? Is our db corrupted and we should stop the game? Or can we work around and continue? Suggestions?

Also someone mentioned this might have been introduced with a recent patch as a "disappearing cvp" bug. Is there a version I can go back to to avoid this bug? Something before 7.5.1 or 7.5?

Steve, is there a stable version less than 2.7.5 - a 2.7.x or 2.6.x that does not have the disappearing cvp bug in it? Our game is stuck awaiting a response. Thanks.

You can try reloading 2.7.0.1. But to open your last save game you'll need to first open it with Notepad and change the game version in the top right to be 2.7.0.1 or something earlier (even if that 'something' never was released). FREX '2.7.0' would work.

But if you look at the release notes for the hot patch then you'd be giving up those fixes, particularly the long supply calculation problem. Perhaps you still have an even earlier version still around in zip form or go back to the last public release? In all cases you need to change the version number in your desired save file to something equal to or older.

To find the right version to go back to I'd like to read through release notes. Do you know if they are available in one spot or do I have to sift through various posts?

Also if I figure out a version to go back to is it possible to download various versions in one place?

Also I've made a post in WIF school showing design notes for all since 2.3.4 that I could find in case this helps anyone.


Does anyone have 2.6.1 beta? It is removed from members area and was never uploaded on forum that I can find. I'd like to try that one to see whether it fixes the disappearing cvp bug.

Steve in case this helps you find the bug, we can load the 2.7.5 save file and change the version name to 2.7.0 and apply mwif.exe for 2.7.0 and the cvp shows up. It did not show up with 2.7.5 (i.e. bug exists in 2.7.5). So it appears to be introduced after 2.7.0. Maybe this will help you narrow it down.

I would suggest to try the 2.8.1.0 patch first.
