RE: March 1942 Between the Storms
What assumptions will you make on the aggressiveness/timidity of the Allied side for the first three months?
Will you assume an Allied player would evacuate assets to preserve them for future use and not give up victory points in Sir Robin manner?
Or will you assume an aggressive Allied start endeavoring to fight for every inch of territory losing it anyway along with the assets?
I think these are the toughest choices you will have to make.

Yes, it will bring in every unit/device who's start date or delay - is prior to the scenario start date...

Man. Talk about click fatigue. I am in the process of shifting about 1,000,000 bases/dots over to Japanese control.
Question for Modders: If I advance the start date for the Mod will it automatically bring in the scheduled reinforcements? Anyone know about that?
Man---That is GOOD NEWS!! Thanks Brian.

This is the EXACT concern I have had as I've begun grappling with this Mod concept.
How far does one take this? To be honest, I've given serious thought to using DICE (old school) to make some of the decisions. Could really use some suggestions/ideas on this front.
I obsess on the shipping but also have to think on the state of the air units, saved ground forces, starting locations of remaining forces, etc...
The list seems endless. Doing this is far more challenging then a Dec 7th start...

Don't you want to start your scenario historically? Losses, whereabouts... you name it... as it was in March 1942 in real life?

I agree that this would likely be the most palatable to both sides.
Trick is to find documentation on the locations and states of forces on both sides around the start date.

Concur with that thought. One of the reasons for the March 1st start is to simply have the DEI out-of-the-way so the players can jump into the 2nd phase of the game and have a great time...

My goal today is to finish flipping the map and advance the start date to see what happens. Will then go thru and eliminate the Philippine Army...

Forgot that I own the warship losses of World War Two book. This tome details EVERY ship sunk on a day-to-day basis. It will help on the warship side. Merchants you ask? Haven't got a clue...

We're actually crossing things off the list!
All easy bases are changed.
QUESTIONS:
1. Here is where I have placed Japanese expansion in Burma. What do you think?
2. Next Post will show a proposed China Line. Need commentary on that as well.

China Proposal
This would appear to me to be a fairly 'mellow' start in China. It could be more aggressive but I really want to see what Brian has achieved with his Mod here. To be honest, a side of me wants to leave China at starting lines and let players do whatever but we know that is not how it generally works.
Could really use some thoughts and ideas in this theatre.

Advanced the Scenario Date and everything looks good. Reinforcements arrived without issue so I think that is a pleasant surprise.
Allied LCUs
Going to shift over to taking out the Philippine Army as well as the Dutch in Java.
What do you most value--as an Allied Fan Boy for pulling out of the Philippines and Malaya? Want specifics and reasoning. Here is a job for AFB to help impact Mod creation!

I think a large part of the Philippine Army should still be intact on March 1 1942, even on Luzon. Alternately, if you just want to be rid of all that, certain Japanese forces that were engaged in the reduction of PI, should be taken off map and placed in the reinforcements with appropriate delays.

Hi John - just checking - the last I heard, you were working with Michael and planning to add some updates to BTS and BTS light. Did you already post those changes?
