• Subs tried to stop the Imperial fleets' movements to Kalidjati and Oosthaven but they were unstoppable. The Cylons, in league with the Empire, hacked into Java Fighter Control and set the range of all fighter squadrons on Java to 0. All commanders have returned to using index cards and pencils. We shall turn this into a trap now the enemy fleets have been lured in close.

• So it turns out there was an invasion convoy with KB2. Both Kalidjati and Oosthaven have been invaded.

OK so it was Sumatra AND Java. Kalidjati is a good spot for the Japanese to take, can build a good airfield there. Ditto at Oosthaven and will isolate Batavia. That was frustrating that even the Dutch subs couldn't hit anything, with plenty of targets available.

A bomb hit on CVL Zuiho, a bomb hit on BB Haruna, a mine hit on CL Tama, and a torpedo hit on xAK Yubari Maru. Much better than yesterday!

• Significantly, we know Imperial search drones did not spy our RN cruisers' move into the Indian Ocean yesterday as the IJN heavy surface force moved to the northeastern Java Sea to engage them today. Tomorrow they will be close enough to dash in to attack enemy landings at Oosthaven the following night.

• The appearance of KB1 signals the last hurrah for our navies operating in the DEI. Submarines will continue to replenish at Soerabaja but surface ships dare not. The airbase at Kalidjati will likely be operating enemy warplanes very quickly.

China
• Sining has revolted and rejoined the Allied cause, signaling the absence of Imperial forces. As we lack a proper garrison and chaos has erupted naturally the true intent of the revolt must be questioned.

India, Burma, Thailand, Indochina
• Still no sign of advancing enemy ground forces in Burma, and they were right on our heels.

Japan, Korea, Manchuria, Russia
• Action!

OK so it was Sumatra AND Java. Kalidjati is a good spot for the Japanese to take, can build a good airfield there. Ditto at Oosthaven and will isolate Batavia. That was frustrating that even the Dutch subs couldn't hit anything, with plenty of targets available.
Better this time, but our subs have had a dry spell overall.

Kalidjati is already size 4 so Zero's will show up real soon now.

Next turn big sync bug so picking through it. The biggest difference seems to be worse weather aborting more air strikes on the IJN in the Java Sea which in the alternate reality missed and lost many planes for us anyway.

Heh, that ground battle at Kalidjati was just a little bit one-sided. But most of that Japanese force is probably meant for Batavia. As you said, the door is quickly closing on the DEI.

1942 March 11

INVADED
Amphibious TF 205 offshore of Balikpapan
Bataan, Bacolad, Bandoeng, Cheribon, Changsha, Lanchow, Kungchang are also invested.

CHANGED OWNERSHIP
Batjan is occupied by the Japanese

Overall
• KB3 in the western Java Sea; KB2 at Kalidjati; KB1 likely near Tarakan. Kaga confirmed to be operating with KB2.

• The engagement of all the Empire's carriers in the DEI will give us room to perform upgrades on USN warships.

West Coast USA, Alaska, Hawaii
• Quiet.

Pacific
• Yorktown and Enterprise will leave Pago Pago tonight for Pearl Harbor where various ships will catch up on upgrades and perform 4/42 upgrades when available.

New Zealand, Australia, New Caledonia, New Hebrides, Solomons, Papua New Guinea, New Britain
• CA Houston will enter Sydney shipyard for 2/42 upgrade.

Philippines
• All the action is south of the Philippines.

DEI, Dutch new Guinea, Borneo, Malaya
• Weather was very bad over the Imperial task forces today and shielded them from our wrath. Rather than show all the combat in the area as over the past few days here are the highlights. There were several more sub attacks than shown.

• While the Imperial fleet still has a major presence at Kalidjati - closely covered by battleships and cruisers - they have left only 2 unidentified ships at Oosthaven with the rest racing through our submarine barriers during the night. 2 anonymous ships is a bad trade off to send 2x CA, 3x CL, and 4x DD into range of carrier strikes. The RN TF's will wait a day before retiring to Colombo.

China
• We bought out the last Chinese Army unit for duty outside China. Now we will save to remove the bomber squadrons for if and when that is needed to keep VP's from the Empire.

India, Burma, Thailand, Indochina
• Preparing for the storm.

He's got units at both Bandoeng and Cheribon, armoured with infantry following. Bandoeng might last a bit depending on what gets thrown at it but Cheribon not so much.

1942 March 12

INVADED
Amphibious TF 86 offshore of Bacolod
Bataan, Bacolod, Bandoeng, Cheribon, Urumchi, Changsha, Lanchow, Kungchang are also invested.

CHANGED OWNERSHIP

Overall
• KB2 and KB3 at Kalidjati.

West Coast USA, Alaska, Hawaii
• Quiet. Some repairs and upgrades underway. Several subs moving to Midway before heading out on patrol.

Pacific
• Heavy cruiser TF leaving Pago Pago heading to Pearl Harbor for CA and DD upgrades. A CL TF will remain until other surface forces arrive in several weeks. A small troop convoy will arrive at Pago Pago in 2 days.

New Zealand, Australia, New Caledonia, New Hebrides, Solomons, Papua New Guinea, New Britain
• Subs near Sydney.

• The fighter and dive bomber groups training to defend the DEI have withdrawn. Wherever the pilots wind up they will have to continue training as none were combat ready.

• Charters Towers airbase is size 6.

Philippines
• Imperials conducted an amphibious operation at Bacolod and with all the force present I do not understand why more troops are needed.

DEI, Dutch new Guinea, Borneo, Malaya
• Lots of action, including more tries at a carrier. Our most coordinated air strike to date with two different type of bombers plus escorts met the largest IJN CAP yest and was destroyed to the last plane. Again only highlights shown here, full combat report attached if you want to see it. There were many battles with our subs.

• The RN cruisers, lacking reasonable targets are heading to Colombo. There are 7 enemy units at Bandoeng and holding even for the first assault is uncertain so remaining aircraft have moved to Batavia.

• An infiltration between Kunming and Tuyun is underway and we will be at least moderately hard pressed to stop it. A bomber group with H81-A3 escorts has been sent to Kunming to slow down enemy movement. More will be sent as needed but all enemy units are in terrain unfavorable to air strikes.

• Surprisingly - the almost inconceivable has happened - an enemy unit has shown up at Urumchi. No idea the strength. We have two units plus an armed base for there totaling 200 AV in wooded terrain behind level 3 fortifications. Another 80 AV Bde is on the way from Kashgar and when it gets closer will divert around the mountains SW of Urumchi to encircle the enemy unit.

India, Burma, Thailand, Indochina
• Steady and effective air strikes in Burma are taking their toll but still no contact with Imperial ground units. The world wonders.

Japan, Korea, Manchuria, Russia
• 7 subs on station, no contacts.
