Though to be fair the UK has one of the largest defence budgets in the world.
You mean 'had'.
Number 6 in the world is still "one of the largest". They're the second-biggest spender in NATO by value.

Second in NATO and sixth in the world is still impressive. You have to bear in mind that we could return to fourth in the world. The Saudi spending spree is unlikely to last long in the long term - and the UK will overtake India if it increases its spending by the amount that many politicians now want.

Then it's better now than never. I believe that the Royal presence to be prosperous in the troubling time again can be very awakening, especially when other global powers pursuing naval expansions faster than ever since.

J-10D testbed with WS-10X TVC engine. First ever clear piture of this new AVEN-styled thrust vectoring engine that also features stealthy sawtooth edges.
This engine is also the current interim engine for the J-20A.
Artist's impression. It's also claimed that steerable nozzle edges can reduce the loss of thrust when vectoring:

That could also answered my question about HMS Queen Elizabeth's purpose on SCS too (despite the report has only mentioned HMS Ocean), thanks.

Speaking of Korea, SK went into a tragic loss of both a pilot life, and an F-15K:

Right-wing media and it's commenter are applauded that the escalating trade war becomes ugly, especially when US is sent THREE carrier groups near the Chinese carrier accompanied and drilling with 40 warships. If they want trade war becomes hot war, this encounterment would be very scenarios-worthy:

History was proven how economic imbalance turns lethal from two world wars, here's how:

UPDATE: Chinese military analyst rebuked such report is a direct confrontation against Chinese Navy and the presence of SCS. He mentioned those are visiting and transiting US carriers and SCS is huge enough to avoid the so-called encounterment. Also, those US carrier groups are not 'carrier battle groups', meaning they aren't assemble with the rest of warships for war:

UPDATE #2: Later on Cary Huang in SCMP also analyze the intention on US's side. If Trump and his new hands decided to use force, Taiwan will be likely the first pawn he will choose to move:

Japan has activated its first marine unit since WW2: a 2,100 strong Amphibious Rapid Deployment Brigade (ARDB). It is trained to counter forces occupying Japanese islands in the East China Sea.

Rumour has it that AGM-142 Popeye
Then it would have been the air launched Popeye-Turbo, which is entitled to be submarine-launched in the current DB.
The other Popeyes seem too short ranged.

The distance to Tiyas is about 130 NM from the northern Israeli border and still around 80 NM from the Baalbek area up north in Lebanese airspace.

So the CMANO-DB is rather pointing on the Delilah loitering missile, launched by some F-16...

There's an air-launched version of the Popeye Turbo too, so it could have been that. The Delilah only has a 30kg warhead, and while we don't know what the targets were, that seems a little on the low side.
Also, do we know what SAMs were defending T-4 and engaged the missiles?

Not sure if it's even in the CMANO DB, but it exists IRL.
