This will be an AAR that nnason and me agreed to jointly keep.

1939 September

Rapid German advance into Poland but Polish cavalry brigades seem to avoid a direct clash with the advancing Wehrmacht surviving the initial onslaught. Significant German formations quickly find themselves 50km from Warsaw, but Kluge's headquarters are left far behind his lines threatened by 2 relatively unscathed Polish cavalry brigades.

France and UK declare war; OKW gets scout reports that several French corps get positioned behind the Maginot line.

1939 October

Kluge's HQ being left so back behind disarray to the forward airfields of the Luftwaffe. German bombers leveled Warsaw but being unsupplied led to more casualties than optimal. Warsaw fell after three consecutive assaults of Panzer and Infanterie divisions.

Neither opponent made a move across the diplomatic board.

The Siegfried line is flooded with reservists and fully reinforced to pose as a threat for an early French shuffle of the Maginot line, or to defend in case of a French concentrated attack.

Late 1939 - Winter 1940

Not one Norwegian merchant vessel reached the Reich's ports. Germany Invade Denmark and Norway.
Minor but constant skirmishes around the Maginot. German suffer casualties on the ground while the Allies suffer in the air

USSR accepts the German proposal to exchange Lithuania for parts of eastern Poland. Soviets invade Finland but an Allied commando expedition and fierce Finnish resistance force the Soviets to withdraw - French ambassador is expelled from Moscow. On the other hand Finland condemns Axis aggression and expels its military advisors in Helsinki.
